East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I don't know why a human would jump to my defense, especially a stranger but I'm not going to say I regret it. Sure the holy water wouldn't have been the death of me; it just would have stung a little and then I could have bathed the street in their blood while I tore out hearts left and right so maybe the human did the hunters a favor today by jumping in the fray but I know it won't be the last I see of them. I wonder what her history with vampires are since she seems hesitant around em but she seems to be giving me the benefit of the doubt so she must have met at least one vampire in her time or she has some fantasy of romance with one or thinking she can become one. I've met fanatics before and it always turns boring after a while but at least she's not bad on the eyes. I find her white hair fascinating. I keep having to resist the urge to touch it. And yet she keeps surprising me, thrusting her hand out to shove the hunter back who tries to attack me, then standing her ground as my shield as the hunters turn to leave. I glare after them, taking their scents to memory in case I get bored later but really I don't plan on killing anyone unless they try to kill me first. Usually I wouldn't mind but right now I'm on a mission.

Even as I watch the hunter though, I can feel her gaze roaming up and down my frame. I know I'm a tall guy naturally as all my family were and the power of an ancient vampire only helps matters to make me a pretty intimidating force when I try. But she is a tiny little thing herself, a tooth pick that makes me want to feed her the biggest burger I can find or something like she's starving. Finally I look at her and she looks surprised like I caught her staring. I'm used to it. I smirk, telling her she's wet and I'm gifted with a smile as she calls me captain obvious. I grin in return, my lips crinkling as as she wipes at herself with her sleeve. I look myself over and hold up my arms. "Yep, I think I'm clear." I tilt my head. "Do I even want to know why you just did that? You know they could have tried out their pointy sticks on you or something. Do you have a death wish?" There's no real anger in my voice, mostly amusement.
