East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Despite the enmity that laced his baritone lyrics, Alexander hardly let his aggravation get the best of him. The entirety of the man's security was placed upon the steed beneath him, his muscles taunt in preparation for what he was assured would be an abrupt and audacious response. He regarded the equine with a fair amount of suspicion as the creature slowly came with dragging hooves to a stop, clearly come to his own conclusions on just how far he wanted to test the experienced equestrian. It took time, considerable amounts even, but there had yet to have been a single mount that Alexander had not been able to tame. He refused to let Frost be one of them. Surely, the steed might be able to best him once or two and there was no doubt that Alexander would end up on the floor, bitten, or covered in dust and dirt. But what he was certain of was that, at the end of the series of confrontations - he would come out the victor in the same way he always had. No were was going to cripple his impeccable record.

A small frown creased the corners of the man's lips, his blue-green colored gaze met the amethyst eyes of his companion with a challenging steadfastness. He watched with silence as the creature turned his head away and yet the man was no less aware of the continued rigidity to the large bestial form. It was far too clear to him that Frost had never experienced any sort of real battle, at least not in the terms at which his domesticated companions did. Every ounce of him spoke to his ignorance and in a fashion, it almost was dejecting to see such raw powers fall to the wayside to the man's stubborn haughtiness. Unfortunately for Frost, patience was a trait that Alexander had learned to harbor. It was skill mastered within his death and though he seemed entirely lackadaisical, he was all too ready for what might come next. He was attentive to the way in which the equine's ears swiveled upon his head, the word that entered his thoughts only further proof of the steed's acceptance of his peculiar situation.

A subtle show of satisfaction crossed his features but the moment was fleeting as he waited for the steed to settle, all too aware of the impatience displayed within every muscle of the creature. After a long moment, Alexander gingerly allowed his heels to nudge into the steed, attempting to urge him forward once again in the same fashion he originally had with naught but the pressure of his feet. It was time to see how much the creature learned in that short amount of time. After all, he assumed that humanistic brain would allow for some sort of superior thought process then the usual animals he worked with - although he wasn't sure if this higher level of intelligence was really any better considering the steed's behavior so far. Regardless though, once Alexander had decided he wanted something, he had a long winded history of achieving it at all costs. He was perhaps, willing to take the steed far, to set him apart from the equines that were once his brothers. He merely hadn't yet decided whether or not Frost was worth it.
