East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The stars in their orbits

and the stars in their orbits shone pale through the lightof the brighter, colder moon

It was either brave or foolhardy for the young fairy to attempt to reassure Nadya, placing her hand on the woman's arm. While the gesture didn't completely help Nadya, it did more than Sam probably knew. She would probably feel the haywire emotions of Nadya become sidetracked, refocusing on the present, but what Sam didn't know what she probably stopped the sudden shift that could have happened. The fairy could have been staring at a pair of golden eyes at that moment instead of brown. Nadya made that hasty retreat back to behind her desk more so for Sam's safety since she didn't trust her shift being so close to the girl. Over the time of Sam working for her she had grown rather fond of her. There were the human tendencies that still lingered in her that Nadya found intriguing and made it much easier to build what could be described as the foundation of friendship. It wasn't just anyone that Nadya allowed to watch over the twins afterall.

The catch in Sam's throat told Nadya that she hadn't known anything about Isolt. Well it looks like both were in the dark about something. With a soft sigh Nadya shrugged nonchalantly. "Isolt was a woman who became a vampire by...regrettable odds. She offered Aiden, Tobi, and I a place to stay since we didn't have a place to call home. Aiden cared about her, was sweet on her and it looked like it was heading in the direction of dating with how she was acting too. He won the Ark and moved there, I stayed behind because I was pregnant. Something happened between them after that and she went to the vampire coven that's run out of a bar on the other side of the quarter. That's all I know...but Aiden never visited the apartment anymore and didn't seem the same. Not that he was exactly spritely before that either." Nadya noted she had begun to ramble and straightened herself in her seat to regather the topic. Sam took that as her opportunity to prove just how serious she was. It was a posture Nadya wasn't used to seeing on her relatively meek employee but one that caused a twitch at the corner of her lips all the same in amusement. "Good."

The hint of amusement was wiped clean however when Sam elaborated on just how she came across the other member of the pack. "She shouldn't have done that." Nadya pursed her lips. "Raven can be quick to act before asking questions." It was a source of frustration that ruffled Nadya, making her feel like her hackles were raised. You could say that Nadya favored Sam and that feeling of protectiveness at being her employee extended now. "I'm sure she won't do it again now that she knows." Even if not the whole extent of it, now that Sam has been labeled as connected to her brother, the whole staff would let Sam wherever she pleased without question.

Back to the case at hand though. Nadya slowly pushed the files that Sam had put down on the table back to her. "I have faith in you, Sam. You are capable of a lot more than you think. You are stronger than you think. Obviously my brother thinks so too. I've written all the instructions down step-by-step for each task so you won't have any trouble. I have my cell at the Ark too if you truly get stuck...but you can do it." Nadya paused as she thought of perhaps the best reason to persuade the fairy. "Majority of your time will be spent up here in the office and away from the other faeries and customers." Again there was that ghost of a forgotten smile in her eyes that was joined by the beginning of the slow fire seeping into her veins itching for her to shift. It caused her attention to shift inward, frantically trying to mentally push it down while also trying not to panic and focus calmly seeing as losing her calm seemed to only make the burn worse.
