East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

It was in defense of the burlesque that caused the faerie girl to dart after the white haired man into the employee entrance. He may have been Nadya's friend, but that didn't mean that he should run around backstage as though he owned the place unaccompanied. Still, the faerie was surprised at his ability to send her foe sliding back into the rack of clothing. After all, it hardly seemed that anyone that Nadya associated with could possibly lead her astray. How naïve of it a thought it was, but Samantha was hardly able to assume that anyone would hurt her on purpose. It was the same thought that had caused her almost demise at the hands of Hunters â€" if it hadn't been for Aiden, she would have perished. Still, despite her surprise, Samantha couldn't deny her laughter at the faerie girl tumbling into the clothing. If it hadn't been for the fear of the other faeries, Samantha would have likely dissolved into a fit of laughter on the floor. Oh, she couldn't wait to tell Dorian.

It is her obvious trust in the man that led her to reveal her power. It was usually a guarded secret, seeing as it came hand in hand with one of her biggest weaknesses. The emotions that plagued the burlesque in excess made her weak, and even standing backstage the faerie girl was already beginning to feel the pulse of the headache that always accompanied the crowd. But even more so, she's willing to reveal her biggest fear. Her mind flashes with pictures of the ritualistic killing that had taken her human life. Unbeknownst to the faerie, flashes of the images were also available to her companion, giving him a glimpse into the three faces of the girls who changed her. Their faces linger in her mind, causing the girl to visibly wince at the memory. She'd spent years trying to forget their faces, their demonic grins as they slit her throat, but it was something stuck in her mind like glue. That she had no idea what happened to them, or where they were, caused her more fear than she was willing to admit.

It is Frost's shift in stance that break the girl from her thoughts, her eyes drawn to him as he rakes a hand through his hair. It's his obvious unease, pulsing not only in his body language but in the emotions he radiates off, that causes the girl to swallow, obvious concern growing on her own features. "What?" She prompts, shifting as he pauses once again. "Tell me."

The color drains from the faerie's face immediately at the declaration from the Were boy. She knew of monarchies â€" the girls here were obsessed with the fact that there wasn't a local queen and hence they were allowed to do as they pleased â€" but the actual fashion in which they were created remained a mystery to her. That she was linked to those girls â€" her makers â€" and that they were likely still looking for her, it was enough to make the girl shiver, shaking her head as she took a step back from the man.

"No. They... Can't," Still, there was something about the sincerity in which he spoke that caused the girl to shiver, unable to fully accept that it was true yet equally unable to deny that it wasn't. "They left me. I woke up alone." The words no longer belonged to the Samantha that stood in front of him, instead belonging to the fractured girl that had been tortured for a week and woken up to her new life. The terror that she'd felt then had resolved itself to her features, her mind reliving the moment.

Samantha barely hears the next words, her arms wrapping around herself in an effort to pull the hoodie around herself as though she could hide away from the world. "I'm not. I don't... I'm just doing this for Nadya." Still, Samantha finds herself following the man towards the curtain, if only to see for herself that the crowd is filled with the same people it always seemed to have. For a moment, she can't believe the images she sees, even reaching up to rub her eyes as though she can make the people disappear.

She steps back behind the curtain, content to hide herself as she focuses on returning her heart rate to a normal level. That his tale is showing some semblance of reality is enough to steal the breath from her throat, though Frost seems to see no reason to not continue to warn her. It is the mention of Aiden that brings Samantha's eyes narrowing on the man, a flash of anger on her features.

"Aiden would never do that to me. Aiden cares about me."

Despite the girl's words, she still couldn't help the way her mind wandered to their first meeting. How he'd led her straight to the burlesque and into Nadya's hands. How Nadya was eager to employ her. How he'd kept tabs on her ever since. The girl shook her head, refusing to believe that the man who held her so securely and made her feel so happy could betray her.

"I have no reason not to trust my boyfriend," Samantha's words lack her usual level of enthusiasm, her mind racing to come up with the plausible reasons why Frost's words couldn't be true. Aiden cared about her. Aiden would never hurt her.

The young faerie had very nearly convinced herself when the shadow over Frost's shoulder caused her to look up, her eyes widening in fear. She takes a step back, clutching at the curtain as though it was a weapon, her chest heaving. "Frost," She lets out a terrified gasp, her voice entirely hoarse. "Did you... Who was..." The shadow having vanished gives Samantha little to offer as proof of it's existence rather than her sped heart rate.

"I have to go," Samantha mumbles, her hands shaking as she tugs the zipper of the hoodie up to hide the outfit underneath. "I have to... I..." She trails off, her mind entirely thinking about going to the Ark, to Aiden, but breaks. No, until she was absolutely positive that the Ark would be safe, she wouldn't step foot there. "Frost, will you walk me home? Please?"
