A soft, wistful exhale left Audette's lips as her shoulder shoved against the alleyway door, pushing it outwards and into the brisk afternoon air. The last thing she expected, as she stepped out into the alleyway, was to find a small group of men - their every action momentarily was frozen at her interruption. She was hardly oblivious of that glint of metal from that gun barrel, the sight of it alone causing her to wince if only for the way in which the metal alone could burn her skin. That gun was hardly the only thing she noticed, however, as her clove colored irises turned to the clear victim. Him. She knew exactly what he was - the very knowledge of it caused her lips to part ever so slightly in awe that she had finally found another like her in that vast city. The intensity of her stare made her all the more aware of that mouthed word. Run. In that exact moment, the door of her dance studio closed behind her with a loud thud - the sound alone spurring those men into action as one of those assailants reached out to grab her even despite her thickly accented protests. She was tugged roughly over towards the poor fae, her fingers catching his outstretched arm as her body pressed ever so slightly into his side. Audette's honeyed gaze fluttered towards him as if searching for any indication of what she should do. The last thing she wanted was to get shot! She could hear the muttering of the men somewhere behind her and yet Audette made no effort to speak to them, her own frame entirely tense with this unexpected turn of events to her day.

Her own hands slowly followed the fae's own as she held them up in some display of vulnerability, the young woman striving to assist in some manner to appear as unimposing as she truly was. She listened intently to the voices of the men behind her, her assailant's insistence that her companion shouldn't be a hero only further concerned her of the consequences when he undoubtedly would...he was going to....wasn't he? Her gaze shifted towards the man beside her, their eyes meeting for a brief moment as he so clearly tried to convey some measure of comfort within that glimpse alone. Maybe it was their shared species or the manner in which he had reached out to her but, regardless, Audette found herself trusting this complete stranger with her life. She stayed where she was as he turned, even despite how utterly uncomfortable it made her to not be able to see what was happening behind her. She hated the sound of those men's laughter behind them, as if they hardly feared to take a life all over a wallet - though, maybe they didn't. Nervously, the Ballerina nibbled on her bottom lip as she watched the man beside her reach into his pocket, the girl altogether oblivious of the powder he crafted upon his fingertips. She was hardly prepared for the way in which he blew that once invisible powder into the men's faces, nor the slap of his hand against the gun. What she was aware of was the resounding sound of it going off - the noise alone prompted a startled scream from her lips though the sound was near lost in the commotion of the men's own shouts as her fellow fae's powder all but temporarily blinded them.

Audette was quick to pivot upon her toes as the man reached for her hand, her fingers quickly intertwining within his own as she dashed after him, fully letting him lead the way. Her clove colored irises widened in horror at the sight of blood that ran down those men's faces - their screaming would be a sound that stuck with her late in those evening hours. The pair raced down the alleyway and out onto the sidewalk and yet, even that was not far enough as far as Audette was concerned. Her head shook ever so slightly as her gaze fellow upon her companion at his insistence that she should get into her car. "I...I do not have a car." Audette responded, her French lit altogether prominent as she watched the fae reach for his shoulder. "You....you are bleeding, we need to get you to a hospital." Her gaze quickly darted down the street as she tried to find any such facility - her very newness to the town all but hampering her in the present moment. "Come on, we should not be here, oui?" She uttered, glancing back at alleyway with the still shouting men.
