North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

North

It's not the long walk home that will change this heart, but the welcome I receive after the restart.

Even in the blur of his high speed, Dareios can feel the rush of her warm, staccato exhales against his neck and chest. Her grip remains tight against him, but his effort to get her home, or at least in her own neighborhood, is over in a matter of minutes. Soon all motion has stopped, and he stands erect and stiff at the corner of somewhat familiar intersection. The only thing out of place on the vampire is a few dark strands of his hair, which rebel wildly in the air above the rest of his manicured head. He looks down at Miya now, their faces so close together while he still gripped her in his arms, and is once again overcome with the desire to kiss her. Dareios can feel that familiar roil in his loins and then his gut, and his mouth begins to salivate. He runs his cold, undead tongue over the points of his sharp incisors before looking away, and bending at the knees to let her stand on her own. If the vampire man was merely just a man, perhaps a blush of color would have risen to his cheeks in this moment.

"See." He says, in an attempt to recover his composure. "I told you you could trust me."

When Miya reveals that he was, in fact, quite close to standing in front of her building, he snaps his fingers in an "oh shucks" type manner, and offers her a lopsided smirk. The mayor gives the building a good once over then, noting its ailing and somewhat dilapidated appearance. It seemed strange that a notable doctor in town would live in an apartment like this. Dareios hardly judged her for it - when they first met, Miya was still just a medical student after all. But even so... his brain was already scheming away with ideas on how to remedy her housing situation.

The vampire is pulled from his own thoughts when Miya sheepishly offers him an invitation to come in. He raises one slender, dark eyebrow in surprise. "That's very kind of you." He says with a nod in agreement. "I promise not to stay long... You really should get some rest." He reminds her, and follows her quietly down the sidewalk toward the building.

"So how did you end up on this side of town?" He asks curiously, as they begin to climb the steps of the cracked stoop at the entrance.
