She sets her glass down and looks up with the kind of smile that would dazzle a normal man. It's a charming smile, to be sure, but I never judge a woman by the first smile. That's what makes a fool fall and that's what leads to their ultimate demise. Never fall for the first smile. It's always a ruse. I'm sure she can smell the blood in my veins by now, the calling of our kind. A vampire can tell when the blood is not your own. At least, one who's been around long enough to learn. Something tells me she's no new blood to the scene. She dresses with the times but that's the smart thing to do. If you're going to dress like Leonardo De Vinci, why not just put a poster over your head for the hunters to see?

Her lips twitch at my first words but I know by the gleam in her eyes that I hit the right mark.

"In our own ways, I guess."

I confess. As I reach out my hand in greeting, she places hers on mine and I bend over, brushing my lips against the back of her hand as naturally as a hand shake for business owners. Why lose such a gesture when it's still seen as charming? She introduces herself and I release her hand slowly as I straighten up, looking up at her through dark lashes.

"A pleasure to meet you, Giselle."

The name rolls off my tongue like sweet honey. It sounds like an older name, something of upper class but who knows if its her original name. Some vampires tend to change more than just their clothing with the times. I hold nothing against them for such but I happen to like the name my parents granted me at birth. She lets on that she made investments to help out her lifestyle and I let my brow rise in curiosity. When you have a few hundred lifetimes, why not invest? I've used the stock market and countless other ventures to get my bank account to where it is today. You can make mistakes as long as you want when you have so much time to waste. She giggles before gesturing for me to join her so I do just that, sliding in across from her as I set my empty glass on the table. I know the bartender will be bringing me a full one soon enough. They know me here.

She smirks as if her thoughts are less than innocent and I find my own eyes glistening with daring, hoping to some day find out just a taste of those thoughts, if not, more. I watch with a slightly tilted head as she pulls her own drink back to her lush lips. At her question, I flash a pearly grin.

"Hm, I dabble in things here and there. I've been fixing up my new abode and making new friends, getting to know the neighbors."

I lean forward on the table a little, resting on my elbows as I look at her.

"And you? How will you be spending your time?"

The smirk on my lips and the look in my eyes should be more than enough evidence that I'd very much like to take part in some of that time. I can enjoy myself with those of my own kind, especially when they have that dangerous air about them as Giselle does. I watch with intensity as she brushes a few strands of hair behind her ear. She's so good at putting off an air of innocence yet I've already seen the look in her eyes when she drops her guard a little and I know she's much more than a pretty face. The bartender comes over with another glass of Whiskey about this time, setting it down before me as he turns to leave. I slowly bring it to my lips, my eyes never leaving her own as I down it and put it back down, slowly licking my lips as I wait expectantly for her answer.
