kissing death and loosing my breath

It was true - the young witch had hardly come to expect particularly pleasant things from the warlock at hand. That wasn't to say at all that she hadn't enjoyed his presence when their paths did happen to cross, however. She found pleasure in the occasional adventure, in being swept away from the doldrums of her shop to a word full of danger around every corner. Unfortunately for the African man, Serafina was far too tired today to be whisked into his secret agent world. For once she wished for nothing more then to curl up on her couch and magically hope dinner would appear in front of her. Her eyebrow rose at the man's retort that he was not nearly as clumsy as Serafina seemed to attribute him to though she chose not to voice her clear disagreement on the subject Instead, the witch had moved on to the next possibility of his presence, one that too seemed to be an inaccurate assumption....sort of. There was no witty remark given to the man, no sarcastic comment on her lips. In fact, all the girl did was stand within the doorway of her home, staring quite blankly at the fellow in front of her for one very long moment.

Serafina was certainly sure that she had heard him wrong, or perhaps she'd misunderstood him entirely and was assuming he had meant her when in fact it was discussing the dating of someone else entirely different. This, she was certain, had to be the case. Her stormy gaze shifted from the man in front of her to the envelope held out to her and cautiously she reached out to grasp the thick material within her fingertips. Serafina was hardly awarded the chance to open the envelope, however, before she was greeted with an an open palm and an innocently resting seed. Her head tilted to the side ever so slightly, her mouth parting in awe as a bit of green peaked out from the small seed. The small seed abruptly spouted to life, the small little thing growing with abrupt vigor, blossoming into by far one of the loveliest, fullest roses that Serafina had ever seen. Her gaze glanced upwards at him, quite clearly impressed by his display of his powers. Surely she had known he was a talented man but she had never seen him perform something quite so intricate.

Carefully Serafina reached out to take the rose. With it delicately held within her grasp, she turned her attention to the envelope he'd given her, cautiously pulling out the card inside. Her eyebrows furrowed as she read the words printed neatly on the card, glancing up at the man with a clear look of confusion. No one had ever taken her anywhere. She'd never even been out of the city, much less out of the country! The witch's confusion however hardly was voiced before Davante had begun to speak again, this time chastising the young girl for her inappropriate reaction to the date she hadn't even realized she was on. "Oh. Um....would you...like to come in?" She inquired, a backwards glance given to the state of her house, as if to ensure that it wasn't a complete tornado. She offered the man a warm simper, her concerns vanishing entirely with this perhaps bizarre turn of events.
