North

It's not the long walk home that will change this heart,
But the welcome I receive at the restart.

Dareios nods and moves swiftly to the corner bar of his office. He lifts a sweating gold pitcher of water and pours some into a small, heavy crystal glass meant for scotch. He adds two ice cubes before returning to the couch where Sorcha is and offers her the glass. He smiles, somewhat awkwardly, to her before collecting himself and taking a seat at the other edge of the couch. The vampire then leans back deeply into the plush chair, folding one long leg at the knee and casting it over the other. His hands lazily grip at the fabric draped over them.

He feels slightly relieved as the witch begins to lighten up, and nods in thanks when she agrees to forgive him. It was always an awkward conversation to have with someone who wasn't, well, a vampire. But Sorcha was as nonchalant and as understanding about his apology as could be expected, he mused, and seemed to be moving on from it without issue. Dareios is relieved, and decides there was no need to press it further. He chooses not to acknowledge her own apology beyond a gentle shake of his head and swipe of a hand, letting her know it was already "water under the bridge" per say.

At the mention of a certain "unforeseen event," Dareios frowns, and studies her body language again. There is a hint of anxiety again bubbling under the surface, but he decides it's probably best to move away from it for now. "Well, let's get right to it then." He said, clapping his hands together before allowing both feet to be planted firmly against the rug under the couch, and leaning forward a bit in his seat. "I do sell antiques, as the card says. But I have my hands in a variety of businesses here in the city. Most are fairly legal." He lets his voice trail off.

Though the antiques side of Dareios' business was merely a front, it had grown to be a relatively lucrative endeavor. So much so that he had hired a small staff to cultivate it and build upon the business model. It was a delicate operation, one that attracted high-end customers to the showroom and workshop he'd built in the basement of his home. The vampire was always surprised as to how much money humans would pay for old things, especially when Dareios could guarantee their authenticity and restore some pieces to like-new condition. The stories they told, be it a sitting room chair, old desk or even say an amulet or another unique piece, became a fascinating pastime for the vampire. Though he was hardly involved in the day-to-day operations of this side of the business, he often enjoyed accompanying his hired historian and refinishing worker on trips to the auction.

"But as I'm sure you've learned from you business in the were-fighting rings, there is a demand for -err- performance-related and mind altering remedies in Sacrosanct." An eyebrow raises as he waits for her to catch his drift. His operation expanded far beyond Sacrosanct, but she didn't need to know that yet. What he sold wasn't always used for medicinal purposes either. Humans could be addicted to the hallucinations and floating-like sensations that came from just a drop of vampire blood. Shifters used it for its quick-recovery powers. He sold a variety of potions, bloods and remedies across the supernatural spectrum -- from fae to dark hunter protection stones, to drugs, mostly in underground circles. "I sell such concoctions on a large scale. I'm interested in selling your potions as well."

Dareios then stands and moves to his desk. There he collects a folder of paperwork and an envelope full of cash. "If you agree to let me sell your potions on the wholesale market, I must test their potency first. You can dictate what you make and want to sell, but I will place orders with you based on what sells best." He says, matter-of-factly. "And depending how they sell, I will likely need a high volume of product from you, if you're as good of a witch as I think you are. Which means there could be quite a bit of money in this for you. If you're up for it."

With that, the vampire turns from his desk and strides to join her at the couch again. "These are some contracts for you to look over. And this.." He says, holding up the bulky manilla envelope. "Consider this a down payment." Dareios says with a smile.
