North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

The woman was surprisingly close beside him, dark eyes lifting in momentary realisation of how quickly she had managed to extricate herself from the situation, the barest hint of pleasure at such a feat seeming to touch his features before he returns to counting the money in his hands with due diligence, content to very near ignore the woman as he fixates upon his task and she proclaims herself successful. She was a decidedly intriguing creature, even if he hardly seemed inclined to show any true interest at all- the man notably guarded in all manners and yet his interest in both her skills and more dominant personality had been assured all the same. He is forever amused by these women, so different from those he had grown up beside and yet no less impressive in their desire to act and do as they feel. Dominance however, is a decidedly delicate balancing act, the man willing to allow her some extension to stand for herself, provided it does not press to firmly on his own. After all, whether by nature or merely temperament- he is a stallion- he is born to be....argumentative, if not stubborn in his own right, his very species is designed to lead, not concede in near any fashion (a constant source of argument between Alexander and himself)- the man anticipating some argument over the money he had pilfered. Edie already seeming to build towards it as he moves to meet her gaze at last, one eye simply lifting upward as if very near daring her to take up the challenge of asking for more then she had agreed to.

Evidently however, the woman was perhaps more intelligent then he had given her credit for either, lips quirking momentarily upward at her words, the girl already having deduced her reward would be no more then she had agreed to as a chuckle rises softly from within his throat before those cool, baritone lyrics find her once more.

"No. I have no intention of giving you anymore then we agreed on."

He simply affirms what she has already deduced, moving to reach back into his pocket for the fifty he had promised her, holding it abruptly in her direction with another ten dollars attached.

"-but I like to be surprising, occasionally."

It was hardly much more and yet for a homeless girl living in a tent an extra ten dollars was an extra meal, the man seeing no need not to exploit her situation, if only a little. Though how such a woman had come to be homeless he hardly knew, his powers within such an open area with so many minds unable to achieve more than a few vague details about the girl all the same. Her final demand however, sees his attention return to her, a simper tracing his features once more.

"You demand I spend the afternoon with you? Who are you, might I ask, to make any demand of me?"

He pauses momentarily, offering her room to actually answer the question as he folds the money neatly, placing it back into the pockets of his jeans, before standing once more, eyeing her outstretched hand a moment with the faintest trace of humour- before stepping past her once more. He moves only a stride or two before turning back, hands tucked into his pockets and yet he offers the woman his arm all the same as she so seemed to desire- perhaps offering her some indication as to the true level of stubbornness of the man before her, much less his skill in making each situation, no matter how small, run by his own terms or not at all.

"Well?"

He simply waits for her to join him once more, evidently having agreed on some level to play this role 'arm candy' for the rest of the afternoon, his own affairs hardly pressing for now. After all, Nadya remained within the confines of the Ark and until he had sufficiently scouted to location there was little he could do by way of any true infiltration. He hardly feared Tetradore alone and yet Tetradore and Tobias together had proven a decidedly capable pair, the snowy-haired man lacking a Beta with the same skills to offer the support Tobias provided and yet neither Claire nor Calliel were truly suitable in that fashion- the man hardly desiring to involve them all the same. Each had their strengths and yet neither of his packmates, for now at least, were designed for battle. Alexander would be a far more appropriate candidate and yet prying the man away from his café for anything less than their training sessions was akin to drawing blood from a stone. At least the work Crow had done would make some parts of this easier. Edie speaking once more sought to draw his thoughts back to the present, eyes rolling loosely at her comment in regards to her dashing beauty all the same.

"I suppose we shall have to wait and see."

He muses the words softly, some level of humour tainting them all the same before as he waits for the girl to take the offered arm and he wanders forward once more and back onto the street, strolling smoothly past one luxuriant store after the other, content in the silence a moment before he speaks once more.

"What's your sad little story then, how did you come to be in this city?"
