I'm more alive than I've ever been

This evening's festivities were, in far more ways than one, a cornucopia of shifting roles and societal approaches for the youthful vampire. As was presumably obvious to all in attendance, Isolt had never fancied herself to be the nucleus of any social gathering, much less to assume a role of leadership over a species she had only been a part of for but a few short years. The young woman had always been one more apt to observe, to evaluate and decide upon further courses of action in a far more subtle and less... public manner. She would not be afforded such an opportunity for introspection this night; however, Isolt had planned and hoped for these moments, and so she was prepared.

As prepared as she ever could and would have been.

The arrival of the elder child vampire was a peculiarity for a plethora of differing reasons; of course her youthful appearance was a matter of awe and wonder to Isolt's equally as youthful mind, though more intriguing than this were the subtle yet nonetheless palpable ripples that seemed to break upon more than one of the individuals present with her arrival. There was a certain swelling of tension that could not be denied, confirmed somewhat by the private chatter of Sebastian and Ceara. This girl was quite obviously of some influence, though the redhead could not entirely convince herself that said influence was altogether amiable. She would have to inquire after the details, should any be forfeited, once in a more private setting.

To his merit, Isolt finds blessed and welcome distraction in Damon's presence as he taunts her playfully. Sapphire eyes are narrowed in jestful admonishment as they cut to him, a pointed whisper meant only for his ears. "It does have a nice ring to it. I might enjoy that..." She softens, though, at the feel of his touch, comforted and put at ease by him as always she had been. But the moment is fleeting and vanished far before she is ready, Isolt coaxed from the momentary reprieve of Damon's touch by Ceara's offer. Feeding from her human counterparts remained a topic of much apphrension for Isolt, her soul maintaining a grand measure of the humanity that had formed the human she had been; the notion of feeding from them in such a public locale was... controversial at its very best. The evidence of which does not cast its shade upon the youthful vampire's face as she offers a kindly nod and a gracious simper to their hostess. "I think that would be lovely, thank you Ceara."

An internal battle ensues in the moments that come to follow, a battle of modesty and pride, demureness and assertion. Weakness, after all, was never an admirable quality to be found in a potential leader. In a Supreme. "Well," she begins, combating the urge to fidget or lean into Damon as she had done before in some small quest for affirmation. "Firstly I just want to thank all of you for coming, I know this is something different and I appreciate the opportunity to discuss the idea. And I want you to know that I don't intend for this to be a takeover, I'm not looking to lord over or control anyone. I actually prefer and appreciate that everyone can function autonomously, I think it will work to our advantage. But I do feel that there is strength in numbers, especially now in these uncertain times. There has been quite a bit of discord in the Were community and I suspect that this will only spread... and it would benefit us to have a united community." She gives pause for a long moment, inviting input, discussion, and (if anyone should so choose) debate before adding, "I would greatly appreciate it if you would consider joining us." And with that, she opens the floor.
