South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

He could not recall, truly, a time in which he had so ever been called open of mind as Raven so suggested now. Dorian finding that small smile touching his lips at that suggestion, the man finding he rather liked to be thought of as such. After all, should not a ruler always be open of mind? He had clung to the past enough in his long life. Indeed, he had been relatively stuck in it for several centuries. Dorian more than willing to embrace that modernity, at least in most things. The Fae still unwilling to accept Pop Tarts or microwaves while maintaining a distinct wariness off most doctors if only because of how veritable dangerous such beings could be in his own time. Outside of those few exceptions however, the Monarch considered himself something of a work in progress when it came to becoming accustomed to ways of life in this century. Dorian having found it was almost easier to accept those gadgets and contraptions then it was to understand those changes in manner and social custom. In that area alone Dorian remained 'old-fashioned' and yet he was almost truly proud to be as such. The man nodding at his companions words then, that small simper still in place.

"Thank you."

He commented softly, before making some attempt to explain his own species to the girl in the way she had explained hers, Dorian highly assured she had done a far better job and yet Fae as a species were as fickle as they were in nature. What set them apart from other species hardly as evident as being able to change into an animal. Fae were, for all intents and purposes, he supposed, a sort of immortal human with the ability to grasp the affinities off the world as every other supernatural was. They merely retained an unearthly ability for sneakiness and cunning, Dorian hardly willing to admit to possessing such traits even if he was assured he likely did. The Monarch offering too those difficulties he species seemed to have with reproduction. While that traditional method of reproduction was surely effective, inheriting those Fae genes was so distinctly rare that Fae parents, more often than not, so ended up with a human child- even with both parents were Fae themselves. Those other methods for the creation off his species was all but glossed over. Dorian seeing no need to terrify the girl with that knowledge nor taint her image off himself even if he had surely never partaken in those rituals. The man instead choosing to speak of his ears, turning his head slightly to allow her to view those notably pointed tips.

He had perhaps, not quite anticipated just what the woman so desired to know off the time period in which he was born and- more than that- just how many questions it seemed she had saved up. Raven reminding him decidedly off himself in that moment. Dorian assured he was guilty of bombarding Sebastian in just that same manner when something struck his fancy and yet how endearing the man found it. Raven a truly likeable sort of person. Her manner so overly pleasant the man was assured he would have answered but a thousand question for her if she had desired. Dorian chuckling softly in the wake of them before leaning back within his chair to consider those question. The man committed to answering each of them as best he could.

"When I was a young boy, my Mother grew concerned that I had not a play mate my own age, for I had sisters born before and after me, my oldest brother was already a teenager and not suitable and as was common in that time, the son of a high-ranking servant was gifted to me as a companion. His name was Leonardo and he was my boyhood companion for many years, right up until I was near twenty years of age. We spent near each day together. He had a love or art and science unlike I have ever seen and it is to him I credit my own love of art in particular. My Father said he was a terrible influence to fill my head with nonsense but I adored his stories and inventions. Leonardo encouraged my abilities with strategy and so encouraged my Father to allow me to train to be a strategist for the army but he would not hear off it. Leonardo and I were very close. Sebastian tells me he went on to become very famous. He painted a picture that is in Paris that Bastian promises me will see. It is called the Mona Lisa, do you know it? I gifted Sebastian some of Leonardo's old art books I still had."

That Dorian still, perhaps, did not fully comprehend just who his best friend had become was surely clear. To Dorian's mind, after all, Leonardo was till that gangly boy whom used to help him steal berries from the kitchen or race him on their ponies around and around the gardens until the night grew dark before they would retire to paint and draw into the early hours and Leonardo would all but convince him that one day man truly would fly. How he would have loved to show his friend those planes of today!

"I miss the simplicity of things I suppose. It is very odd to say and this may make little sense to you but while society is far freer today I miss the way the world used to be. There was an order to everything, a way of doing everything, a set of rules everyone knew and once mastered the world could be navigated with ease. It is different now, I feel I don't always know the rules or that they keep changing. I miss the romance off my time. I see men now who do not even offer their coats to women when it is cold or whom do not know how to court them. I see women who take no pride in their appearance or who shout and yell and carry on in a fashion not befitting a lady. Romance is not what it used to be."

If he could so change that about the modern world he surely would. That courting phase for any couple was surely some of the most romantic of days! When ones heart should all but flutter at the thought of seeing them again. When men would anxiously wait for just the right amount of days before calling upon a woman and she in turn would fuss nervously over her clothes for days in advance. Now- it was as if they did not care.

"As for what I have now that was rare in my time, my country was always rich with fruits and spices, things such as salt and pepper and fine silks were not hard to come by. Naples was a large merchant city you see. What I marvel at now though, silly though you may find it, is cream. Cream, butter, ice cream and fresh milk is a very great luxury. My palace has a dairy attached and yet we had no refrigeration. Milk spoiled quickly. Fresh cream that has not soured is a glorious thing. The supermarket is filled with dairy products that would have traded for countless gold in my time."

How glorious milk and cream and custard and butter and cheese would be when served fresh and so allowed to last for days without spoiling! The sheer array of products delightful to him in every sense let alone the taste of them. That soft utterance she had never learned to dance however so saw his head tilt slightly. That warm simper touching his lips.

"I shall teach you if you desire? Dancing, I fear, falls beneath that same roof as courting. A forgotten art and yet a truly powerful tool for flirtation. Especially for a woman."
