South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Vampires and witches are mostly enemies, or so experience has shown. Most times, I can't look at a witch without a fire rising up somewhere way too close to where I currently am. It's like an ancient law that we can't be friends or something, though I would never purposely hurt one without reason. It's not like I want their blood or anything. They have too much silver, too much magic. It's painful to drink so why even try? I am curious as to why she even bothers to answer my questions, why she seems much more open to conversations with a vampire than just to throw a potion at me or something and disappear. We do have a common enemy, the hunter, but then so do Were's and yet most of them seem to dislike my kind as well. I think a lot of it is miscommunication but most don't seem eager to correct that. She seems different somehow. It's refreshing.

I go to the swing and take a seat, relaxing into the back of it as if she can't just make some vines wrap around my neck or impale me for all I know. I don't think I should have any reason to fear her just as she should have no reason to fear me. She walks slowly over to me and takes a seat on the other end. I offer her a smile as she moves her foot against the ground to keep us moving. She gives her name and I nod.

"Pleasure to meet you, Adelina. I've never been a fan of nicknames."

I offer in a more playful tone as my lip twitches toward a smirk. As she leans forward, I watch her with interest, listening attentively as she starts explaining a little about witches and their powers. I know this is probably something a lot of other witches wouldn't want her explaining to a vampire. The less they know, the better, right? Sure, I might end up using this knowledge to survive some night when I'm facing one of her kind but it doesn't mean I plan on using it strictly for that purpose. I don't always have evil intentions. I nod before grinning briefly.

"Is it that obvious? No, I don't have much experience with witches besides avoiding them. Most tend to attack first and ask questions later."

She lets on her own preference before reaching out to touch a vine. I watch it sprout to life and grow along my side of the swing as blossums come to life at her touch. I smile, truly amazed by her power. She speaks again and I meet her gaze steadily. I don't really know what to say to that since I don't see much beauty now a days, not unless you count the fresh blood streaming from a human's neck or the occasional bed partner that you see in a certain light. At her question though, I offer a small smirk of mystery before nodding. I guess since she shared her strength, I can share a little of mine.

"I can persuade someone to do whatever I say with just a look. I don't use it very often day to day though. Mostly just for survival or when I get hungry."

I shrug, not afraid to admit to using my power to stay alive. I know we are looked down upon because we feed on humans but I don't think that has to be a bad thing. What if you leave your victims alive? What if you heal their bite marks and wipe their memory of the experience so they aren't scarred for life? How can that be bad? It keeps me alive so what else can you do? A vampire's got to eat. I turn my eyes to hers, waiting for her reaction, waiting for that look of judgement to cross her face. She'll probably hate me now just like all the others.
