South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Her heart thundered in her chest. Ray knew she should have gone home after the day, the small voice in the back of her mind urged her to not stay out after dark especially after what had happened. And yet, she rebelled against it, not wanting one incident to define the way she lived. It might not have been so bad if it was some other vampire out here tonight but of course it had to be him. The southern man who looked nothing more than a gentleman. How very deceiving is was - how unexpected that night went. She had truly planned to go home with him even when Tim urged her not to - it made her childish and what to do it anyway. How she hated to be told no! If only she had listened to Tim that night, there was a possibility he might still be here.

Snatching the flask from him, she plops rather aggressively on the sand, wedging the stainless steel between her legs trying to put as much anger and venom into her words. Looking away, towards the ocean - she keeps him in her peripheral though she can't quite catch the movement of his tongue running across his fangs. This... man was quite literally licking his chops before a meal. A loose plan begins to form in her mind - now she just needed an opening to fulfill it. Losing herself to her thoughts momentarily, it doesn't last long before Colt is speaking and his words make her blood run cold. He hit the nail on the head. Those thoughts ran rampart in her mind on a continuous reel since the day it happened.

Her fault. Her fault. Her fault.

"No..." she trails off weakly though she makes no move to look at him as guilt and anguish flash through her eyes. She's hyper aware of the way he crouches next to her, the man far too close for comfort as she slightly shifts away from him. Realizing she was doing just that, she stops moving and glares out into the darkness as she lets her hands slide into the sand at her side. Gripping her hands into fists - her whole body tenses at his nearness. It's the cool finger beneath her chin that has her freeze, her head pulled to the side to meet his gaze. Eyes wide in astonishment and a lingering fear she watches him, unable to look away. His stupid face and voice was the perfect way to lure in his victims, Ray having been on the receiving end of that fake charm once upon if time. Even now she could almost forget that night from months ago if she just stared at him long enough.

His voice snaps her out of it and she tries to tug away but his grip is iron tight. Glaring at him, a crease between her brows form as she practically throws daggers at him with her eyes. "N-nothing. No game," she clears her throat just as he releases her chin. Reaching up with a hand she rubs at her face, as if she could wipe him away just like that. It was only then that she realized it may have been a rhetorical question. He was the one toying with her, playing a game that he would only win. His cold finger reaches out and traces her cheek, the woman utterly frozen beneath that touch. He was almost intimate in the way he caressed her face, his finger trailing down to her shoulder. A shudder racks her as her eyes flutter close trying to stomp down that fear that threatened to swallow her whole.

Swallowing, his voice reaches her ears again as her eyes meet his gaze, sweat beading at her temple in nervousness. Crap. She had forgotten the super human hearing, of course he could hear the way her heart was about to gallop out of her chest. Her tongue feels thick as she's unable to answer but she needed more time. She needed him distracted so she could get a head start, all she needed was to reach her bag a mere hundred yards away. She could get there, right? If he was distracted enough... she hoped she could get there. "Why are you like this?" She blurts our suddenly, maybe if she could get him to talk about himself. He was a man after all and most men loved to gloat, right? "Why do you find pleasure in the torment of others? I mean most vampires these days can just ask for a bite and most people oblige," she was rambling and she knew it. A cold sweat breaks out on her back as she makes herself glance at Colt, a fearful but defiant look masking over her features.

She was stalling and she hoped it wasn't too obvious, she simply needed him to not have her at the forefront of his mind. Unscrewing the lid of her flask, she raises a shaky hand and takes a small sip hoping to settle her nerves.
