South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

She must have sensed something from him when she talked about the girls who murdered her cause she kept squeezing his hand and telling him it was okay. His jaw clenched but he forced himself to take a deep breath and let his shoulders relax. He wanted to say it wasn't okay at all, what they did. But he knew doing something now wouldn't change what happened in the past. It already happened and she was over it, or at least working toward being over it. She was so much stronger because of what she did and he admired her for going to face them like that. She admitted it was empowering but also confusing. He listened raptly, knowing there was nothing he could say at this point. He wanted to understand what she went through but he knew in the same breath that he never could, because he wasn't turned. He didn't have to die to become what he was.

Sam told him then about an ex she had and he couldn't help but flinch a little at the thought or her being with someone else. He had nothing against Were's or any other species as long as they weren't killing humans but he didn't like picturing someone else's arms around her or someone else's lips on her own. Shaking himself out of it mentally, he made himself listen as she talked about the pack and how close they were. By comparison, fae probably seemed very cold or hard hearted. "When you're fae by blood, it's a much different experience. Family is everything and you stay close, unless you lose everyone close to you like me and my brother so you travel out alone to continue the family business. Being turned fae....is mostly frowned upon in most of the Fae Courts. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, it's still looked upon as murder so the Maker is usually someone who's not mentally stable or just enjoys watching the pain of death and turning. That's no way to bond with someone."

He shook his head sadly, thinking of the lives he'd failed to save cause they didn't make it in time when a dark fae was committing these kinds of atrocities. It was always painful to watch because once the turn started, there was nothing you could do but wait for them to wake up so you could explain what their new life was going to be like. There was no turning back or ending the suffering cause then you were just as much a murderer as the one who turned them. Some even had the strength to beg him to kill them as they died and turned and he hated it for them. He shivered as the dark memories washed across his mind, pushing them back so he could focus on Sam again. He watched her delicate finger slide across her own neck and realization flickered in his eyes as he took in the scar again. He'd noticed it time and again throughout their time together but the pieces never clicked together until now. He knew what those clean edges meant. Her throat was sliced open. His heart felt crushed in those moments, knowing he wasn't there to save her.

She told him about the rest of the experience, about waking up alone and not knowing anything about what she was. She came to Sacrosanct so lost and confused and he found himself drawing circles on her hand again. He hated it for her. "I'm glad you found yourself." He finally answered. Yes, she was much different than how she described. She was strong and confident now. She had come into her powers beautifully. But he was sure having such a power thrust upon her was no fun at first until she learned how to control it. When she suddenly flushed and apologized for rambling, Kit shook his head with a soft smile. "No, not at all. We should get to know each other, right? This is all part of that. I want to know about your life, even the dark parts." He assured her. When the topic turned to the winged fae she once knew, he couldn't help but wonder if it was his brother. Troy was always so easy to talk to, especially for women, and he had a way about him that drew you in. She seemed so comfortable talking about the fae, like he was something special to her. Kit was almost jealous, but in the moment, he was more hungry for knowledge of this fae and what it could mean for his search.

As Sam moved to the chair closer, he felt jolts of electricity dancing across his skin at just the thought of her touching him. Oh, but how he wanted her to. She was classy though and kept her hands to herself as they talked and he didn't know whether he was more admiring or disappointed. Her fingers did magic on his forearm and he felt the touch all the way through his body. It was intoxicating. He couldn't help himself so he leaned in closer to breathe her in while he whispered teasingly. As he pulled back though, she told him to be careful as she brushed back his curly hair. He lifted a brow expectantly at the warning before she told him it was how they got into this mess and he couldn't help a laugh at that. "Too true, but then I guess nothing else can surprise us, right?" He added teasingly. Of course, he had to keep asking about the winged fae. He wanted this time with Sam more than anything but he also needed to know what happened to his brother.

When he mentioned Troy's name, Sam pulled back and for a moment, he regretted saying anything because he lost her close proximity and her touch. Maybe he had annoyed her with his questioning? He was about to apologize when he noticed she was fumbling for something in her purse. Puzzled, he waited as she pulled out her phone and started flipping through pictures. When she held it out to him, he found himself holding his breath. The moment his eyes found the face of the man next to her though, he let out the breath he was holding and his eyes lit up. He'd found him. How very small the world was, indeed. His lips curled into a slow smile as he nodded and finally tore his eyes away to meet Sam's face. "Yeah, that's him, alright. You know my brother." He said the words as if in awe, studying her expression like he needed to memorize it. Like an angel, she'd brought him so much happiness in such a short span of time. First, her attention and her affection then the baby and now, she'd even managed to bring him news of his brother. She really was something.

Shaking himself out of it, he sighed and looked back at her phone. "Are you still in contact at all? Does he know you're here?" He hoped he wasn't taking away from their moment at all. He just had been without his brother for so long and needed to know he was okay. He was sure Troy had wondered about him at some point, too. They used to be so close.
