South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Hold on to this lullaby; even when the music's gone

I had needed to get away from the smells of the city again. Everything was so new and bright and brilliant but I needed something familiar and comforting and heading back to the park was just that. I went back to the same tree that I had first shifted at, I felt a connection with it, my scent was around the base of it and it was still the first place I had discovered since leaving my families compound.

There were so many new things and I knew that I needed a job first before I was able to buy anything. I shed my clothing with little worry that anyone was watching and carefully folded it and hid it among the base of the tree. The change overcame me quickly, as it always did, the familiar pain sending shivers down my spine and causing my lips to pull up into a grin. In moments I was on four paws, stretching to get myself used to my body and being back in this different skin.

So far, I was the only one out here, I would keep an eye out, it wouldn't do to be blindsided like the first time. I kept a close radius to the tree and to the abandoned den within feet of its base. This is what I enjoyed, this feeling of freedom and the chill wind that ruffled across my nape and caused the fur to stand on end. Just like a fox in the wild the fur along my back was starting to turn white, the reds and blacks turning grey to help me blend better with the snow that covered the ground. I always laughed at the way I looked at this stage, black paws and black tipped ears and covering my face like a mask.

When I was satisfied that I was truly alone, my nose raised to catch the wind did I drop it to the snowy floor to try and find some small animal to hunt. I quickly found that it wasn't as fun without my brothers and sisters, we would all be racing through our property, tackling and wrestling and twisting in the leaves before hunting as a unit to gorge and nap in the sunshine. My life had been idyllic, but in the end it had been taken away in a blaze of bullets and blood. I swear I could still smell the silver on my body even though I had been able to get the bullet out. Maybe it was the memory of it.

I dropped to the ground at the base of the tree with a huff, raising a paw to run my tongue over it and clear it of snow before surveying around me. Maybe if I was patient enough a squirrel would pass unknowingly by me.
