South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The notion of a "blood bond" betwixt individuals of likened species was a truly and complexly alluring thing, beautiful and perilous in the very same moment. It was, given the particular circumstances within which it had been forged, the essence of both heaven and hell; it was pleasure and it was pain, healing and agony. For Isolt, it had always been the latter, the ties Risque had forged with subversive vigor had only ever been weighty and ironclad shackles upon her mind and body alike, a crippling bundle of proverbial chains cast about the redhead so that she might never again know the limitless flight that was freedom. It was an omnipresent and thickly-lain shroud of darkness so that the fire-crowned girl may never again know light. And it is this truth, this unwavering axiomatic certainty that death has indoctrinated into her soul, that has Isolt look into the pale eyes of one of her dearest companions with wholesome and unassuming care.

"My Maker is blood. And blood may be binding, but... I would hope that I deserve more than her torment. I know that you deserve more than theirs. Blood isn't everything, Raven," she concludes in the sweetest of whispers, as light as gossamer wings upon tender and weary flesh. It is a certainty that the knotted and calloused hands of circumstance had colored the young vampire's malleable impressions of the bond of blood, the reservations she claims are nothing short of a sorrowful byproduct of fate's cruel dealings. Isolt is but a student of Risque's teachings, a pupil of hardship as was the ailing canine trembling beneath the cool pads of her hands. Perhaps it was some deceptively minute consolation that fate had deemed it fitting to bring two such opposing creatures together. Perhaps in one another they might find fulfillment whereupon the objects of their bondage had been so sorely lacking.

The movements of her companion see the telltale etchings of concern sew themselves blatantly into every measure of gossamer flesh, Isolt tensing for a suspended moment as if she might somehow seek to restrict Raven's stirring. The warmth of her friend's tongue upon bloodied palm sees her stilled, though, the fledgling vampire's arms curling about the canine's neck in a brief and yet nonetheless benevolently gentle embrace. "Of course you do... I'll always be here," she coos lightly into the wealth of ashen fur at Raven's neck. There is a few lingering moments of silent contemplation that pass between the two companions, an exquisite web of consideration that is all but shattered by the hefty realization that dawns as some obscenely gruesome sunrise within Isolt's mind. "We should go, it reeks of blood here and I think it may attract some unwanted attention." It is truth, their privacy not long guaranteed for the smears of blood upon disheveled blades of grass will surely act as a beacon for any wayward night-walker whose interests might pique due to the metallic aroma. Rising upon still-tingling legs, Isolt turns to her companion once again. "You can stay with me... if you'd like."
