South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The University of Sacrosanct

they argued my right to ascension

Somewhere amidst the shout of his own voice he is aware the young woman flinches, as if his very words have stung her and indeed some part of himself attempts to....soften his voice if only for her own benefit. He hardly means to be so oppressive, hardly means to see her pull from him in response to the burn within his tone he simply fears for her, worries for her and over the years perhaps his emotions has ceased to detangle themselves until each and every feeling is predominated by some source of agitation with the world around him. Perhaps he simply feels...cheated by it, to some extent. Perhaps he had been gifted with a source of eternal life and youth in exchange and yet he had never desired it, never asked for it- the price he had paid to be given such 'gifts' had been far to high then and simply continued to be so. His transition to this life had cost him everything, there was nothing left, not anymore- those precious few whom he had managed to earn or maintain friendship from had all died from age else been killed through one event or another until he is left with little more then hate and resentment for the world around him. Calliel was perhaps the last tie he held to any part of his humanity, a tie he had been unaware he possessed until so very recently and yet the discovery of that had perhaps seen a spark of sorts flicker and flourish in a part of himself he had believed long since burned out. She was like that flame, tiny and delicate, capable of merely being blown out without hands to shield it.

He promised himself each time that he would simply not become attached, that he could distance himself from them- whoever it was he had come to care about and yet Calliel had been exempt to his own rule, to an extent, this tiny little human girl who was so utterly vivacious and naive it was almost endearing to him. He had desired to protect her from the very beginning, allowed himself to feel....something for her, if only for all of him he saw within her all the same. The very creature he had once been to an extent and indeed there was some pleasure in that- fleeting though it was. Perhaps he is simply angry at himself- for having failed to protect her from whatever had done her harm- her voice barely a whisper as the gold of his gaze rests upon her home. Horses? She was....horse riding? For a moment he is very near loath to have failed to ban her from that activity as he had banned her from all others, features frowning slightly in disdain at his own oversight, her wounds at least explained in that regard until she mentioned her ribs, leg and arm- his words cutting her own off, if only briefly.

"How.....did you manage to get home let alone knock on the door?"

If she had any broken bones, as he suspected she might, her having walked this far with near impossible- eyes frowning in confusion once more before the girl managed to finish her sentence and the very colour from his face seems to drain.

"You were bitten?"

It is very near a whisper from his own lips, the words barely seeming to form around the lump in his throat, the fear in the girl's eyes surely reflected in his own as his mind seems to struggle to perceive the words she is speaking.

"Oh, Calliel."

It is all he can truly seem to manage, lifting smoothly to his feet once more before moving abruptly away from her, ignoring any sounds she may have made as he managed to reach the kitchen bench, leaning his forearms upon it now, head resting briefly in his hands in some effort to gather the thoughts that spiral. Why.....did it continue to happen to him? He dared once more in near thirty years to...care about someone and once more they only continued to prove it was a futile effort. Why did he continue to do this to himself? Why did he even bother at all? He turns abruptly from the table once more, striding back across the room and into his own bedroom, pulling out the dresser draw to grasp the Glock within, briefly checking to assure it was loaded before tucking it into the back of his jeans with single minded assurance. Wouldn't it be kinder to end it for her now? To....change, to force her body into a state so unnatural would be ten times the pain then whatever she suffered now and he was hardly going to stand by and watch it happen. She would be in agony, he is sure, she would suffer half a lifetime over it before those changes came with ease and even then.....she was damned to a life of being hunted, of dominance and submission and alpha's- her humanity had barely days left before she became some....animal. It would be kinder to end it for her, others have begged him for it before in the grasps of their first or second change, begging to die if only to stop the pain that racked their bodies. She would cease to exist, cease to be his niece. She would be nothing more then an animal, incapable of true emotion or thought or feeling. A selfish, soulless creature- like Sera's wolf.

He moves from the room with an almost single minded purpose, weapon concealed all the same so as not to alarm the girl with the terrified blue eyes still resting within his door frame as he bends towards her once more, scooping her up as gently as he can within his arms to shift her now and carry her towards her own bed, resting her softly upon it- aware he needs to speak, to say something, anything- though the words hardly want to come. She looks so much like a child. She was so young and she looked....so much like her Mother and her Father....his brother.....him in turn.

"Calliel I....."

The words catch again, refusing to budge in the same manner as his hand simply fails to reach for the gun hidden behind him. He knows already he cannot do it, at least not now...not while she still had even a scarp of humanity left. When had he become this...weak? If he had any true spine to him he should surely have been able to end her now rather then prolong the suffering of them both. Yet his hand never moved, resting instead on the bed beside her. He cannot...kill her, not like this. She was just a little girl and she still was....for a few days at least. Though what would happen then? He would feel her change, his instinct towards her would change- everything would change. He manages, somehow, to seat himself upon the bed beside her, engaging his own power now to remove the gravity from her limbs alone- to give them a feeling of weightlessness without lifting them and help ease some of the pain as a sigh at last falls from his lips- his eyes feeling oddly....wet though he hardly knows why, brushing that moisture away hurriedly.

"The bite of a Were, Calliel, is....venomous to an extent. There is something in their saliva that effects humans, it afflicts the blood stream though we don't truly understand how, it's like a poison that travels to fast to stop and is activated by the full moon. If you were bitten by a Were, Calliel, you are going to become one. That is how it works. If you were bitten by a horse- you will become the same as the creature that bit you when the moon is full next. That is barely a few days. Vampires and Hunters are often...attached in a way to their Maker or Sire or Mentor or whatever you want to call it. I have no idea if that will be the same for you, I don't know- but I....want you to tell me who bit you Calliel, who was it?"

He had a bullet in a gun that was very near dying to be fired. Perhaps he couldn't kill her....but he could kill whoever did it to her.
