West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Black Market

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.

Edge of the Circle

Cull & Pistol

Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Bartender Raylin Chike

Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar. Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

darling, when the icecaps melt
when the devil's in the bible belt
The alley is quiet for a time, the only sound the patter of her footsteps as she moves quickly from block to block with a determination that fuels her fast pace. Her mind wanders, lingering on the visions she'd seen - particularly concerned with the river styx and its blood-stained waters. Was it a warning from the great divine, geared specifically towards her and her most recent endeavors? A frown pinches her brow and she pushes the thought of visions aside, not liking the bitter taste of guilt that now coats the back of her throat.

The gods surely wouldn't look favorably on her playing at necromancy, but the gods didn't have to live with the pain of losing her brother, either. The thought of him sends a sharp pang of sadness like a bolt to her heart and she wraps her arms around herself, a sudden chill peppering her arms with goosebumps. Forgive me, she thinks at her gods, despite her refusal to stop trying to bring her brother back. He never deserved to die at all. It should have been her, and yet it wasn't and she couldn't live with herself if she didn't do everything to try and rectify that.

She's too caught up in her thoughts and sadness to notice the man before it's too late to make a run for it, the darkness of the alley having effectively cloaked him from her peripheral view. She pulls up short, her eyes widening with alarm as he surveys her in a way that makes her shift uncomfortably from foot to foot, refusing to take her eyes off of him. The dagger in his hand catches her attention, the steel illuminated by the small bit of moonlight shining down on the two of them.

His voice sends a shiver down her spine, devoid of emotion besides the obvious warning and she takes a step back, her gaze shifting to that dagger. Shit, she thinks to herself, cursing her decision to take the more dangerous path home. She straightens up in an attempt to appear intimidating, willing her erratic heartbeat to slow as she licks her lips before speaking, still watching the dagger. "You're right," she says, cautiously risking a glance at his eyes. They're a startling blue-grey, and if she weren't terrified, she might think them beautiful, save for the emptiness swallowing them up.

It's that emptiness that terrifies her, and the knowledge that she couldn't possibly fight back without risking a serious injury to herself. She could disappear into the shadows and try to be silent, but at this proximity, he'd still be able to hear her breathing. No, best to save that card for later - in case she has to make a run for it. "I didn't realize how late it was. I'm on my way home now." She tries to keep the strain from her voice but it creeps in anyways, turning her words into mousey squeaks.

Her mind races in panic, trying to remember a defensive spell and faltering when she realizes she hasn't got anything that could be used for one anyways. Out of options, she levels him with a stare that isn't quite as intimidating as she'd hoped, her jaw clenching in a mixture of anxiety and defiance. "Do you plan to kill me with that thing," she manages, waving a hand at the dagger. If he did try, she'd run. She can imagine it now, turning and taking off through the alley - disappearing into shadow once she's far enough to be confident in her ability to remain hidden.

More likely, he'd stab her before she could get two feet away, but a girl could hope for better luck, right?
