West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

It is a serious thing, this business of names. Tobias so demanding a certain level of correctness from those around him when it came to such things. An unusual trait, perhaps, given his otherwise general indifference to the inner workings of life or manners or politeness or 'the way things are done'. Names, however, had so eternally demanded from him a certain degree of focus. They were important. Though just what or how or why they drew so much of his focus remained to be seen. Carolina's misstep in this dutifully corrected. Tobias informing her of his name, or at least, an acceptable version of it. The boy failing to recognise her use of that earlier moniker had been something of a term of endearment borne from her own social custom. Tobias, notoriously, was not apt to respect any social customs beyond his own. The young woman before him, perhaps wisely, readily accepting this correction before uttering his name properly. This clear ability to conform to his desires seeming to please the spotted deviant as a grin of sorts flickered upon his lips once more before abruptly disappearing with that same unnerving swiftness so many of his facial gestures seemed to occur. That ability to 'hold' any certain look upon his face an ability he had seemingly not yet mastered. Else, perhaps more alarmingly, Tobias simply did not truly feel those emotions at all. Rather, he simply displayed them as if he did. A mimic of an expression he had seen before. An effort to appear 'normal'. Tobias, despite himself, painfully aware off his own difference even if he hardly had the words to describe it.

That manner of secrets however, seemed to distract the young man from any further arguments upon names. Tobias content to eye Carolina near warily. The Leopard distinctly good at understanding that which remained unsaid. Each frown and movement so readily observed as if searching for some internal clue upon her face. The young man far, far more devious then he surely appeared. This a veritable test, even if Carolina so hardly knew she was being tested. Tobias content to flex but some off his dominant nature and high ranking position in those moments if only to see just how the young woman handled such things. Her actions so sure to result in her being placed upon that hierarchy within his mind. That mental leaderboard of sorts so having a habit of becoming enforced by those around him. That shaggy-haired miscreant something of an.....artist when it came to having those around him do as he desired. Carolina, he was sure, would be no different. Tobias oblivious to the notion that Raven had perhaps prepared that young woman agianst some of his arsenal.

His position atop that bar surface so hardly faltered at his blunt declaration that he knew about those cookies Tetradore had asked her to hide from him. An utterly foolish notion. Nothing could be hidden from Tobias. The boy well aware of their exact location and yet that cunning mind had so seemingly decided to test Carolina's own- though to what purpose or end remained to be seen. Tobias promptly demanding to know just where those aforementioned cookies had been concealed. The young woman's momentary indecision near decidedly clear before her shoulders rolled. Carolina insisting she had agreed to tell a secret- but not that secret. An unanticipated answer. Tobias' head so momentarily tilted, the action very near dog-like, a blankness of sorts returned to his features before those dark eyes met her own yet again. A look very near....cunning have replaced that earlier facade.

"Caroliiiiina is.....secret keeper....for Tetra. Tetra.....will be.....pleased."

He hardly chose to elaborate upon that singular stuttered sentence or whether or not he so intended to report upon this conversation to Tetradore at all. Carolina shifted then, leaning toward him in a near conspiratory fashion that so readily seemed to capture his interest. The gangly deviant listening with a clear intrigue as the woman promptly announced she was terrified of thunder. Surprise so finding its way to his features then, Tobias frowning in consideration of this fact before one hand lifted to point suddenly up and towards the roof and sky.

"Thunder? From....sky?"

What other sort of thunder existed perhaps remained to be seen. Tobias clearly seeking some sort of clarification of 'which' thunder all the same. The young woman's assurance that she did, however, know where Raven kept further cookies seemed to direct his attention once more. Tobias watching from his precariously perched position as she made her way to the end of the bar to rifle within one of those cupboards before producing that bag. The leopard commenting upon her very voice as she did. That southern twang a....pleasing sound to his ears. At least when spoken from her. When spoken from him, that other, the words were distinctly....aggravating. Tobias hardly seeming to desire to dwell on that thought. The idea of 'southern states' seeming to intrigue him now. His knowledge of any sort of geography decidedly....lacking.

"Where is....Southern State?"

That this was not a singular place had hardly occurred to him, Tobias reaching for that offered bag then, the boy seating himself upright to peer into the bag itself. His long fingers reached into that bag then, Tobias plucking that first of those cookies from the bag before slipping it between his lips. That satisfied crunching following a few moments later. This offering, it seemed, having inspired Tobias to sit upright and yet.....he remained upon that bar still. Carolina having only partially achieved her quest- so far.

"Caroliiiina."

He paused, waiting for the woman's attention upon him again, Tobias reaching for another cookie as he did before those near-black eyes rested upon her own once more.

"Do you....like....Tetra....or Tobi or.....Birdie....best?"

This, it seemed, was a critical decision. One he must know the answer too. His words very near entrapment all at once and yet, once more it seemed that Leopard was determined to test her in some fashion.

"Do you.....like.....vampires?"

This, it seemed, was a sudden question and yet one that appeared equally as important. Tobias eyeing her again now.
