West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

He had hardly anticipated that Carolina might catch onto that game so quickly, much less manage questions so decidedly...astute and yet- the Romanian rather found he enjoyed her quick-fire queries. They were hardly the type he was asked often, the blond pausing to consider his answers for the barest of moments even despite his own earlier admission that they were hardly supposed to think about those answers so much as simply answer with the first thought that came to them. That, after all, was usually the truth. The Romanian offered those responses readily then. His favorite movie was easy enough. That modern remake of a previously old western had always...fascinated him to some extent. Maybe it was almost typical of him- a European fascinated by American cowboys and yet Sly could hardly dissuade his own curiosity in something so different from his own homeland. That movie had encapsulated just about everything he'd ever wondered about cowboys- and the women of the era as well. Where he had been born was a decidedly simple question and one he got asked more often than not. His accent, after all, was almost obscure- the vast majority of people inclined to ask exactly where he was from. Where he would go if given the chance however was another manner entirely and yet one Sly found he hardly had to consider long. Rome. It was almost the epicenter of ancient history. His fascination with that very thing inclining him to want to see it for himself.Even if he was mostly certain he was never going to be able to afford it. His guilty pleasure, too, was equally as easy to answer. Boiled sweets. He'd eat the damn things by the bowlful if he could. Another thing he was certain he couldn't exactly afford to do.

That very thing, perhaps, led him near directly into his next answer. Wasn't winning the lottery something that most people wanted to do at least once in their lives? Sly was pretty certain that was a damn good goal to try and aim for even if the chances of completing it were decidedly slim. Still-stranger things had happened right? An almost impish grin found his features in the wake of those words, the Gypsy regarding his companion then as Carolina chuckled. Her light, musical laugh easily filled that space as she insisted she would be more than happy to join on his lottery winning endeavors. A mutual goal they both seemed to share. Sly's grin hardly faded as the young woman insisted she was going to break a rule- the warlock regarding her with intrigue then before she queried what on earth boiled sweets were. A look of momentary bafflement seemed to linger upon the warlock's features, Sly evidently struggling to comprehend Carolina's utter ignorance on something as critical as boiled sweets!

"You've never had one?"

Really, he supposed, unless someone knew where to look they were unlikely to be able to find even the British kind of his favored sweet. Carolina had probably never had a reason to find an English candy store- much less try those obscure boiled sweets in their glass jars. Sly shifted slightly upon his chair, the warlock reaching to extract his phone from his back pocket before tapping at the screen and entering that desired text into Google. It hardly took a moment for those small, hard, brightly coloured candies in glass jars to appear on the screen. The Romanian turned it around to show it to Carolina then.

"These. They are small and colorful and very sweet. They are really hard though. Like the Rock Candy you have in this country but much smaller."

Sly paused to offer the woman a chance to eye that picture before resting his phone atop the polished surface of the bar once more. The Romanian pausing only so long as it took him to finish his drink before insisting he was ready with his own set of questions once more. His own quick fire questions seemed to prompt a moment of indecision in the woman, that query of her favorite book apparently a tortuous one. She was an avid reader then, hmmm. How he had hardly anticipated that. An entire book series, Carolina insisted, was apparently an acceptable answer as Sly's blue gaze rolled lightly in jest, that good natured grin finding his lips as he nodded his agreement to accept her Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy. A series he was inclined to admit he'd never heard of before. It was her insistence she'd managed to walk all the way to work with a pair of underwear hanging from her pant leg however that managed to prompt a snort from the warlock, that ready chuckle humming within his throat. Alright, that was pretty embarrassing. That she was terrified of thunder was a surprise. That sort of fear was unusual in adults and yet, true to his word, Sly hardly queried it any further. Hating cooked vegetables the warlock was certain, was another unique answer. The young Were apparently preferring them crunchy before insisting she'd once made out with a guy for nearly the entire ride of Spaceship Earth at EPCOT. That final answer prompted one eye to lift.

"Really, Spaceship Earth? That's a decently long ride too- or so I hear. Impressive."

That grin hardly faltered from his lips, the warlock's head nodding in agreement with his own sentiment that it was, indeed, impressive that she had managed that. Had she been dating the guy? Had they met on the ride? How readily those questions tugged at his mind and yet Carolina was ready with her own questions once more. Sly affording her his full attention- the woman seeming to have anticipated his curiosity in her replies as she offered him a mock serious look that warned him off questioning her further before she offered her own queries. The first thing he noticed about someone? Huh. That was unusual and yet easy enough to answer- surprisingly.

"How serious they are. Either they can handle a joke or they can't. People who are nothing but serious all the time are boring and you can usually notice it pretty fast. Who wants to be around someone who never smiles or appreciates the irony of anything?"

It was, perhaps, an answer even Sly had hardly anticipated and yet the warlock made no move to alter it, his mind instead focused upon his favorite tv series.

"I like that really old sitcom Seinfeld. That probably almost ties into my first answer. It's a show literally about nothing and it amuses me that it is."

His sense of humor, it seemed, was almost obscure- if not often misunderstood by others and yet the warlock hardly dwelled upon it as he considered those other responses for the barest of seconds.

"My talent is that I'm a good talker- like unnaturally good. I can sell people just about anything if given the chance. I don't even have to understand the product or how it works. I just....talk rings around them until they agree to buy it. Then again, maybe they just want me to leave."

A soft chuckle hummed easily within his throat before he continued.

"I like both dogs and cats equally. Mihai often takes the form of a fox- that's neither dog or cat but a blend of both- that's his most common form so that probably means something. As for the most interesting place i've had sex I mean....I don't know if its so much interesting as it is weird.....if that counts..."

Sly's features frowned ever so slightly, the warlock rarely inclined to reveal these kinds of stories, especially to someone he hardly knew and yet- there was little harm in it. Even if Carolina might surely stare at him in some degree of judgment.

"There is no way or not going to judge me for this so i'm just going to come out with it. The library at Bran Castle, specifically the non-fiction section. Bran Castle is in Transylvania. It's quite literally Dracula's castle and it wasn't.....with a woman. Which isn't totally illegal in my country but....it might as well be for how the government treats it. So I nearly got arrested and walked in on by a tour group that came by less then ten minutes afterward. When it comes to sex I....play for both teams if you see what I mean."

In America, at least, his bisexuality was hardly a concern. People so rarely seemed inclined to care. Romanian was another matter entirely. It had been made legal and yet the country still hardly treated it as such. Fines, jail time and everything in between still existed. His own Gypsy community perhaps even worse when it came to those things and yet Sly hardly chose to dwell upon it now. That simper hardly left his lips as he regarded his companion. Sly certain he still had a myriad of questions to ask and yet....it was getting late.

"You, fortunately, might be spared another round if only because I need to get the van back before my boss starts ringing me. If I lose my job I'll never be able to afford a lottery ticket. I should probably head off. I'm glad I met you though, Carolina. This was my most entertaining job all day."
