East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Well well well, if it wasn't the dark mysterious man himself. Ceara had seen him on the television weeks ago announcing his running for mayor as a vampire candidate no less. He was daring, strong in his presence without bringing fear to the public, so much so that the woman thought he may actually have a shot at winning the election. Many supernaturals had attempted to climb the ladder within the government in order to have some say on what policies were passed on their people though very few got far and all of them kept their identities out of public knowledge. While Sacrosanct may have been a sanctuary where you could live in the general public with your species known, it didn't mean the humans wanted a supernatural in a place of power. Even some species had problems with each other having too much power.

When the invitation had reached Ceara's hands she had originally decided not to attend. Whatever possessed her to change her mind she hardly knew but the damage was done the moment Ceara stood before the full length mirror appraising her appearance. She had chosen a smooth red fitted dress with a black lace overlay on her chest and shoulders and down her hips. Ceara gathered her hair up and pinned it with an ornamental pin before hooking delicate black diamond dangling earrings from her ears and calling it good. "Yolan, I'm going to be late." She glided from her bedroom and down the grand staircase towards the foyer. The large man whom worked for Ceara lumbered out from one of the rooms and opened the front door for Ceara to pass through. He assisted her into the car before taking his place in the driver's seat. Yolan's gaze kept sliding up to the rearview mirror to survey Ceara in the back watching the scenery roll by. "Something bothering you Ma'm?" "Hmm?" Ceara pulled her gaze away from the outside world back to Yolan. "It's fine, Yolan." She fell quiet for the rest of the drive.

The car pulled up to a smooth halt behind the line of cars already parking outside the establishment. Yolan once more opened Ceara's door for her to exit the car. "Why don't you take the rest of the night off ?" "Ma'm?" "I'll walk back, the fresh air will be good for me." Yolan looked dubious but nodded and slipped back into the car. Ceara watched the sleek car slip down the street before turning her attention back to the building where the media and guests milled about. Ceara brandished her invite to the doorman and entered with ease. She had never been within the Red on the Water before. The business was similar to hers, although she catered more to the upper-class and her customer base was largely human than a supernatural hangout.

It took very little time for her to single out the man of the hour as he greeted Isolt. He did look quite dashing. Slowly she approached the trio, a soft smile gracing her features. "Isolt, good to see you. Congratulations on your new coven." She had heard about the fledgling gathering fellow vampires into a coven with a man whom had later disappeared without a trace leaving Isolt the sole leader. "You've outdone yourself with the decorations." Ceara offered the sincere compliment to the red-head before her attention slid away from her to Dareios. "You may need that rapier now that you're running for mayor." She hadn't forgotten their brief encounter back at Damon's Halloween party. She had excused herself shortly after their introduction but who could forget his handsome face? "It's a daring move, even a dangerous one; what made you decide to run so openly as a vampire?" Ceara quirked a brow in honest curiosity as she eyed the man.
