East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

It wasn't often that Alexander dropped his guard so decidedly so, much less showed all the cards he had collected on the Hunter Council at large. After all, such subtle suggestions (or threads) were significantly more useful when the information he harbored was not widely known. His hunter comrade had thought his relationship with that she witch was some carefully guarded secret - and yet, even for all his speed and angelical morals, Alexander had still found her. Why he was even telling this were-girl about such a discovery, however, was another matter entirely. His lips pressed together ever so slightly at the astonishment that momentarily crossed the young girl's face and yet, truly her Dark Hunter Uncle's hypocrisy had irritated the Macedonian King enough that such words were out of his lips before he knew it. This, he decided, was the most difficult thing of his continued existence. Hephaestion had once been his closest of friends, their relationship bordering upon something more. He had been the one person Alexander had confided in on everything. And now, since he was gone, Alexander hadn't found a singular soul he was ever as closed to in nearly two thousand years. Friends, true friends, were the things he missed the most.

A small shrug crossed Alexander's shoulders, "Love has no bounds, species is irrelevant to it." He commented softly. Honestly, the Dark Hunter could entirely understand Azrael's interest in the witch. He himself had fraternized with a were recently, before she had left him never to return again. It had perhaps hurt far more than he had let on, her leaving. After all Alexander did not involve himself in others so readily. "Still, I cannot say whether this is love or but some passing infatuation. After a while, it can become difficult to tell." He fell silent for a moment, sipping gently upon his tea as he contemplated this very notion of love that seemed to escape him - they were all taken away from him by time or left on their own accord. His head shook ever so slightly as the conversation continued on to his own dwelling within the cafe. A war mongrel as she had put it. Her comment, however, did manage to pull a small grin to Alexander's lips, a nearly mischievous twinkle filling those sea colored eyes. "Emperor hm? That is a title I have not yet acquired." In a way, Alexander perhaps enjoyed the length of the number of labels he had earned over the years, the list had almost become something to collect for the Macedonian man.

It hardly escaped Alexander how highly the young girl seemed to regard him - to think that he could merely fix all the things wrong with this world. It was nearly endearing in some fashion. It had certainly been a long while since any had shown him the dignity he surely deserved. His eyebrows raised ever so slightly as the young woman continued to speak, offering to care for the dishes in exchange for the comfort, silence, and now conversation and food he had provided her with. For a moment, Alexander seemed to consider it, his blue-green gaze eying the young woman ever so slightly. "Have you ever worked an industrial dishwasher before?" He inquired, pausing for a moment before another thought slowly pulled at him - "Were-girl. What is it that you do with your days besides reading about rubbish historical figures? What is it you intend to do with your life now that you are what you are?" It was, perhaps, rather personal of an inquiry and yet, the answer was somehow of importance to him.
