East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i hear the footsteps inside of me
It was Malek's turn to raise his brows in disbelief as Dorian reveals a bit more about himself that Mal is grasping straws at. There had only been one major Inquisition that the vampire was aware of and in turn, his brows dropped into a sudden furrow as he pondered the fae's words. Though Malek had been going through a rather dark time during the Spanish Inquisition, he had let his animal instincts take over for several decades, yet he had been aware still of the happenings around him. The vampire let it go, perhaps Dorian would tell him more about his life later on, he found the odd faerie very charming and was enjoying himself mightily with a newfound drinking friend. "Not exactly, I was more of a... peasant," Malek paused, searching for a word that would describe himself.

He had lived in a very small tribe of hunters and gatherers and they roamed far and wide, never settling in one place for long, until he was changed and wiped them all out because he couldn't control his bloodlust. Swiftly stifling the memory, he flashes a grin at the faerie and hears the chuckle that bubbles to his lips. "Yes, I would have to agree. It makes it rather easy to take advantage of certain predicaments," Malek lazily smiles at Dorian, a brow arching at the drunk faerie. After the shots arrive the vampire is pleased to have the man play along with his childish games and after taking the shots another round of laughter is eliciting from Malek's lips at the faerie's reaction.

Reaching over, he pats the man on the back, rather roughly, to help him cough it out. Plucking the shot glass from Dorian's hand, he sets it on the counter again and vaguely notes their knees brushing each other. Instead of glancing down, he watches the man for a moment too long, knowing his own world was spinning but the faerie was his focal point and that made the world right, in Malek's mind at the moment. Suddenly, the vampire places a hand on the faerie's thigh and leans forward, his voice lowering slightly into husky tones, "You said earlier you liked to play games, what other games do you like to play?" he questions, gazing at him through a curtain of hair that had fallen on either side of his face.

Mal pauses momentarily, before withdrawing his hand and offers another smile before reaching for the next shot and handing Dorian one of the glasses. Instead of counting this time, he clinks his shot glass against the faerie's and drinks again, eyeing him with a smoldering gaze.
