East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

My Own Form of CHAOS

I had indeed noticed the warlock's absence, maybe not so much while I myself was "on holiday," but the moment I returned to set things right with Isolt and figure out where I stand now, I started wondering what he was up to and what fun he must have had going solo on his missions. I know he must have missed my natural charm and creative way of doing things while I was gone. It could not be as fun torturing someone without being able to puppet them into doing whatever the hell I want and then watching them make a fool of themselves doing it. Plus, who wouldn't miss my company?

But I noticed quickly enough that his stool was empty the first night I came by Red on the Water and when I mentioned it to Isolt, she shrugged and said he hadn't been by in a while. I grew a little concerned, I won't lie. Who does he think he is to leave without telling me? We're PIC, after all, partners in crime! I'm pretty sure that's against statute 1.9A of our silent contract or something. I'll have to call him up and mention it. Surely he must have missed that. There will be consequences.

And of course the night I decide to stop by to have a little private time with Isolt in the office, I happen to be walking out and my gaze falls on that damned empty stool. But a single brow arches up because this time it's not empty. There he sits, for all the world like he never left, his gaze almost expectant on the office door as if he meant for me to come out of it. Damned warlocks and their need to control everything. I roll my eyes and head toward him, easily sliding onto the stool beside him as I relax onto the counter and turn my head just enough to make him out of the corner of my eye.

"So...it's a 500 dollar fine for leaving me without notice....just so you know."
