East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

chase the sky into the ocean

The icy water of the ocean certainly had a way of chilling her to the bone, though the faerie queen made no attempts to step out of the water. It wasn't so bad, she told herself, and she would get used to it in a matter of minutes. She nodded at his question, relaxing into the step of the dance as she did so. "Uh huh, I'm more... nervous about it than anything. I don't like making a fool of myself." She couldn't help her thoughts drifting to her lesson with Dorian, the man commenting on how a dance could be used for so much more than a dance. And that was what she was doing in a way, wasn't it? She wanted to win Troy's loyalty, didn't she? If dancing with him in the ocean would do that, then she would dance all night.

"Don't tell Dorian this," The girl said with an impish grin. "But I would argue that you're a better teacher. Or at least you're a better leader. I..." She cut off as they were lifted into the air by the promise of this intermediate lesson. She had done fine with her body having the ground to press against. Pressing against air was certainly different, and as such she struggled to find the steps. She wouldn't fall, and he seemed perfectly capable of keeping her up with him in the air. After a moment, it was easy to lose herself into the dancing. She knew the fae were known for their love of dancing, and in that moment, for perhaps the first time, she felt so entirely fae. She giggled as he dipped her, reaching down off his hand to touch the tips of the ocean.

It seemed like they'd been dancing for only moments when he interrupted her, directing both their gazes towards the sky. Had it been that long? It hadn't felt like long at all, and for the first time in her whole life, she didn't want to stop dancing. She shook her head, smiling charmingly at him. Sure, Dorian might worry if she didn't come home - though likely he would just assume she went to the Ark. "No, I have all night," She said easily as she moved her hand back to his to continue their dance. "I'm a queen, after all. And besides, I don't quite want to leave yet. Remember how you said we weren't leaving here until I was an excellent dancer? Well, I'm not leaving until I've won you over." She grinned playfully at him.

Easily, she did exactly as Dorian had taught her to, adjusting her hands on the man to pull herself in just a little bit closer in an attempt to entice him. She wanted his loyalty, wanted the protection it would give her to have a fully capable fae on her side. Dorian was wonderful at the logistics of it all, but even she had a little doubt when it came to how much protection she would have. "Tell me," She said after several moments of quiet as she focused on the steps and the sound of the ocean crashing against the rocks. "What would I have to do to get you to join me?"
