East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Shifting in her seat, the plush velvet of the chair not making a sound Yejide craned her neck to get a better look at what the man was doing, she gives a small smile- he's humoring her. Although she had taken perhaps the last ten years or so off of earth it didn't mean she hadn't kept up to improve her cultural knowledge. And yet- here she was unable to operate anything more complicated than a rotary phone. It was a glamorous life playing catch-up and she wished she had been more prepared. Yejide keeps eye contact with him when he extends his hand towards her and she offers her own in turn.

With the contact of his skin on hers she can feel the magic that is pulsing through his veins, it's like a mini explosion of stars in between their palms and crackling through every nerve of her body, down her arm and spreading through her chest in a steady warmth of familiarity. But it pulses back to a cool trickle like water and she pulls her hand away. If nothing the touch just confirmed it, that he is one of her own. There is without a doubt, although the type he is she isn't certain of. When it comes to the fae there is such diversity, there are those who seek to push their lives to the fullest and those who wish to harm all around them. Creatures with wings that humans named angels and those with horns and twisted features some called devils. The one thing they had in common was that there was magic like no other pulsing through them. They were beings of pure magic, something no witch or vampire, hunter, or shapeshifter could ever hope to possess. These two were magic to their core.

"Yejide," now she knows her name is unusual but it is her own, it is who she was as a human girl and who she was as a celestial creature. It was all she was. Watching as his fingers slide over the phone she is careful not to look too closely into his features, her one hand plays with the enchanted pendant absentmindedly. She knows other people are staring, he seems to have that extra dose of vitality about him, plus she knows a good looking person when she sees one. Her family was full of them.

Never being one to hide her excitement Yejide makes a delighted sound and takes the phone from his hands, her eyes scanning over the message quickly before placing the phone down on the table. Brushing her hair away that had fallen out from behind her ear she gives him a genuine smile, "thank you." Yejide feels a weight ease off of her chest, just a text from her brother stating he would be out late, not to worry. Something she tended to do. "I feel like I may never learn, maybe I'm a hopeless cause."She takes a sip of her latte again, her pale eyes focusing on him.

So far Troy seems... trustworthy. Making a gesture to his previous position she says over her cup, "if you'd like to join me, I'd hate for you to come over here and let your meal get cold." She wanted to pick his brain more, obviously each knew they shared the same blood and deep magic, she knew no other fae on earth and only had one solid friend to speak of in all of Sacrosanct. Yejide not only yearned for the company of others who weren't family, but she needed it.
