East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I'm more alive than I've ever been

It was an entirely new sort of agony... these moments that lay idle as Isolt awaited the response to the baring of her soul's deepest secret. With fingers aquiver the young woman had peeled back her soul's veneer, thin though it had undoubtedly been, of stoic composure to reveal the raw, naked, and bleeding insides. He held the stake now, and of all the things that Isolt could have professed to be certain of she knew that this stake would come for her. He would kill this piece of her. After all, how could he not? What choice was there apart from this one? The soft, floral scent of his partner clung to him as surely as Damon's cologne permeated from her every pore. The thought of Damon, of how it would crush him to know what she had done and what she had said, was its own stake to her ailing heart. It had never been Isolt's intent to leave him for the man before her, for the love she craddled within her heart for him was indescribable.

Her plea for response does not go unanswered, but neither still does it quiet the churning of her insides at the soft, mournful tone of her name upon his lips or the gentle insistence of his fingertips at her chin. For a long moment Isolt does not meet those dazzling, consuming emerald eyes. She cannot for the fear of what is to be found there consumes her wholly and completely. But, as he offers her some recompense for the sentiment she has forfeited to him, her eyes ease open, their azure depths set aglow even in the somewhat dim lighting of the pub. The young vampire nods her consent, her agreement to his words though they ail her no less than was to be expected. It seemed a certainty that they had missed their chance to find whatever romance might have been betwixt them, yet another casualty of a fate which had aptly demonstrated its cruelty time and time again.

"And you'll always have a place in mine," she whispers passed the knot that had grown mercilessly within her throat. It was naught but the truth, for surely she would remember him even when he and all those around him were but shadows and dust. Surely she would love him even then. But, it was clear, only from afar. Only from across the expanse of a crowded room or in the privacy of her own thoughts could she indulge herself in the glow of it. However, at least now it was not only her secret, it was not only her pain. Now he knew, whether for better or for worse was yet to be decided.

A smile hints at the brims of her lips to alit upon her angelic features for the first time in quite a while as his lips brush against her hand, Isolt leaning in to brush her own cherry pillows against his cheek in response. A single, delicate moves to frame Tetradore's jaw as the youthful vampire considers her companion for a silent moment. "You look so tired, Tet," she whispers, brows stitching in quite obvious concern. "You need to rest. You've done more than anyone could ever ask of you, and you deserve to rest."
