East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

bring me back to life

I am speechless by his response. It's a new way to think. Not his lives to grieve? Does he mean because it wasn't his family members or friends that he knew that he shouldn't grieve them? Of just that he thinks so little of their lives because it's not his? I don't know whether to be indignant or just thoughtful about the whole thing. I guess in this, we'll always be different because he was killing enemies and strangers. I had to kill my former pack and family, the only family I ever knew. I'm completely thrown as he tells me of his father and the advantages it gives him. Now I feel the urgent need to do some research. "Who is Zeus?" He acts like he's someone important so surely I should at least know that. He tries to comfort me by saying that the people I killed may not have deserved anything. The words actually sting and I pull back a little, looking down at my feet.

I've always felt that everyone deserves good things and a good life. I even prayed for my father to have that satisfaction every night when I went to sleep. I prayed that he would find comfort from my mother's death and that somehow someway he would find happiness. In this, I don't think Alexander and I will ever reach an agreement. We've had too different of backgrounds. Even so, I lean into his lips and somehow I still feel as if that's where I belong, even after all this. I feel his hands on my hips and I don't tense this time. Instead I melt into his embrace as he pulls me closer, lingering in the kiss as long as he'll let me.
