East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

This notion that William did not understand the cell phone- that device Dorian had so affectionately referred to as a letter sender until Samantha had painstakingly spent several hours correcting him, sees a look of inquisitiveness touch his features. How curious it was that such a modern man might not understand the device and yet Dorian could hardly fault him upon it. After all, he himself had only recently learned of it and as such he could hardly berate the man upon his lack of knowledge. William too- had so apparently mastered that crosswalk Dorian remained in awe off and as such the Fae is almost pleased to have found some even ground between them so as not to feel so entirely hopeless in the Dukes presence. That inquisitive look turns thoughtful in that moment, his silver gaze meeting the brown of the man's own.

"They are very useful things, they let you write a letter and then send it instantly, it then appears in the phone of the person you sent it to within a matter of mere seconds no matter where in the world they are. You might always find them. I do not know truly where one acquires them I fear though, mine was a gift."

That smile so tugs at his features at the memory of that evening within the back of Sebastian's car in which he had so been offered that gold-coloured cell phone so that he might find his lover anytime he needed him. Dorian moving to allow those thoughts to pass but a moment later at that soft chuckle upon William's lips, the man seeming to find delight in the notion Dorian was so willing to permit the use of his first name, the Fae King nodding softly before their attention returned in full to that building that so intrigued the man. That William so believed Samantha to be a part of whatever was going on within that building and that it might somehow involve prostitution saw some measure of hesitance touch his features all the same. Curiosity however, had forever been a decidedly strong point for the Italian man. He desired to know of the world around him, to understand it, to discover it and he cannot bring himself not to follow William into that building and that overcrowded space within. It was a decidedly improper thing to have William touch him and yet within that moment Dorian is almost grateful for those fingers that rest on his arm, guiding him expertly through that crowd and towards the stage. He had never truly seen so many people within one space before, in the least, he had never ben amongst them. The sight of Dorian himself usually that which brought the crowds to the edge of his palace. At least, his presence had created such hysteria several hundred years ago. What now could be of such importance as to attract this attention he hardly knew and yet those bodies were oppressively close, pressing against him, threatening to swallow him entirely as he pressed closer to William. If there was any true advantage to the height of the Hunter it was most assuredly the ease with which Dorian could find him within a crowd.

It is the man's inquiry as to whether he has ever heard of this 'burlesque' that sees his lips part to answer- whatever words he had so been about to offer abruptly cut off at the sight of those scantily clad women appearing on stage. His silver gaze widens, that look of shock so apparent upon his features at the very notion of these parading women whose very decency was barely covered- Dorian at last managing to drag his gaze away before so telling off William for just this same sin. Dorian assured neither man should be looking at any women in a state of undress such as that which existed before them. He is aware, dimly, of the waitress Will so manages to intercept- his gaze still firmly held upon the floor before he finds himself guided into a seating area of sorts, the Fae far too stunned to offer any protest as he is nestled within that booth. It is only William's suggestion that he might somehow coax the women from the stage that sees Dorian's gaze lift sharply upward to regard the Hunter with something almost akin to fear.

"No, No! I should much prefer if they remained upon the stage. Thank you, but I would be quite overwhelmed I think. I am not used to these sorts of women. They are so....bold! None of them shall ever get married if they continue to dance about like this though. It is almost as if they do not wish to be thought of as virtuous."

That these women were perhaps not inclined to consider how they might be perceived as potential wives had hardly occurred to Dorian in that moment, the man struggling still to avert his gaze, fearing perhaps he might somehow encourage such women should he make eye contact for far too long. Besides- Dorian was committed entirely to one being alone. These women, by comparison to his lover, held desperately little interest to him. This query of which one was Samantha momentarily seeing him frown.

"I should have to look at them again to know."

It takes several moments of deliberation before the man at last turns his head, eyeing the women in turn before a look of surprise so touches his features- silver gaze turned back to Will it in that moment as the waitress placed some sort of drink before him.

"She is not any of them, truly I'm almost relieved. Perhaps she does not...dance. I am curious as to where she is though...."

Yes. Dance. That was surely the word for this flamboyant prancing, Dorian reaching almost reflexively for that whiskey, lifting it to his lips before that burning sensation of such a potent liquor sees the man cough abruptly in response.

"My! But that is terribly strong! What is it?"

Whiskey after all was a truly new taste for the man, modern alcohols far more potent than those of ancient times, Dorian shaking his head softly before continuing to glance amongst that crowd for Samantha. Where was his roommate amongst this collection of people? More so, what did she do here? Dorian assured to hold any number of questions for the woman when she returned tonight.

"Oh, perhaps that is her- ah no I was mistaken. She might appear if we wait a little perhaps. What is it you are doing in this city William? You are far from England."
