East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

My Own Form Of CHAOS

She seems to be thinking awfully hard about the whole burning thing, her lips actually forming a scowl as her eyes widen as if in shock that anything like that could actually happen. I've seen it happen many times before so I know indeed that it does but since she's probably never been around a vampire before myself, at least while knowing it, I doubt she's had that particular honor. She seems to be a little upset about the thought of a vampire burning to death, or maybe she's picturing myself? My lips twitch but give no other indication that I'm wondering at her thoughts. She's a very intellectual girl, more than I've given the human race credit for since I turned. When I agree with her about loyalty, I can see the triumph flash in her eyes, enough to tell me that she must be a pretty competitive girl. Should have been on the debate team in school then. I bet she'd be good at it.

Once we get to the house, I can see that she owns a quaint little townhouse. I wonder if she lives with roommates or parents or if she has the place all to herself. Not that I'd mind the company, I'm merely curious of how she lives. She seems to really put a lot of thought into my answers, as if trying to think about whether she needs to reword her sentences or something. She didn't offend me or anything. I just like making people think, that is, if it doesn't just confuse them from the get-go. She must be pretty well taught in manners to wonder about everything she asks or says to me. I wonder if she's still asking herself whether I can go past a threshold uninvited or something. I hear the movies really play that crap up.

At the dare in my tone, something seems to flash in her eyes. Oh, she likes dares, huh? Good, so do I. My lips twitch again as I wait for her response. Her answers are getting a bit longer winded so I guess that means she's getting more comfortable around me. I'll take that. She does believe that I'm the first vampire she's ever met though given how numerous they seem to be in this town, I rather doubt that. I just think she was in denial if she had that funny feeling. I offer a smirk, chuckling a bit under my breath before I nod.

"Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Shoes off, got it."

She turns on her heel briskly and walks to the house and I follow in her wake, giving her enough space since I don't want to crowd her and cause her any discomfort. As we reach the door, she opens it and leaves it open, moving on into the house. I guess she doesn't want to stick around to challenge her theory about invites. Shrugging it off, I move up the steps and into the house as well, taking a moment to look around once I've walked into the hallway before diligently taking off my shoes as ordered. I can tell the minute I enter the kitchen that this is a student's house, a meticulous student at that. Her books and study materials are scattered everywhere, though in a neat way if that's even possible. As she gestures to the table, I nod and move to take a seat, looking up at her question.

"Strong and plain. It's the only way it really has a taste."

I offer with a shrug, sure that she'd probably be curious. I look at the books across from me before raising my brow at her.

"No wonder you have a thing for the Weres. Veterinary medicine, huh? What made you want to study that?"
