East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The youthful vampire was entirely inquisitive of those peculiarly obscure words that so left the man's lips. The foreign syllables were repeated with some measure of effort in her own soprano voice before she inquired both the origin of that unique phrase and too the man in front of her. Her head tilted inquisitively to the side as she listened with rapt attention to the man's shortened tale of his own life. Chizue knew better to inquire further, not particularly wanting to pry and yet, she soaked up this new knowledge with a particular level of awe. "Waa! Sugoi ne!" She claimed, catching herself in those old habits before quickly translating her own astonishment, "You ran your own company at eighteen?! That's amazing!!" That which he was entirely blase about was met with a measure of wonderment from the young woman and she was utterly determined to not downplay his accomplishments in the fashion he so eternally seemed to do with ease. However, she found herself entirely unable to contain her emotions as he continued that nearly self-depreciating contemplations of his own species and the effect his very existence seemed to have of the world around him. She couldn't deny she felt bad for him. She felt the simple need to reassure him that things were hardly as terrible as everyone else made it seem. He was a nice guy, sweet even, and before Chizue knew it, in a rare glimpse of boldness the girl had closed that distance between them to throw her arms around him in a warm embrace.

She was entirely aware of that stillness that so seemed to afflict the man, that simple gesture almost made her sudden audacious action even worst and yet, regardless, she persisted for just a minute longer - just enough for the man's figure to relax and his arm to momentarily wrap around her in a comradely fashion. That gesture lasted seconds at most before Chizue hopped back to her seat, suddenly a flood of words leaving her lips despite the blush that so marred the pristineness of her cheeks. Thankfully, Kohl hardly saw the need to comment on her actions, instead only offering her the smallest glimpse of a smile, clearly regaled by her own eager antics. "Yay!" She exclaimed, clapping her hands together but briefly in a show of her ecstaticness. "I will look forward to it!" Her head tilted to the side, her lips twisting to beam with contentment. The prospect of having a friend come to visit her was entirely exciting to her and would, without a doubt, be a prospect that might get her through the rougher shifts she took on at the restaurant.

It was, however, to prospect of his affinity that so captured the young woman's attention all too intently as she considered the sheer extent of what the man was capable of. She was assured that there was more to this then even he had considered. His affinity was certainly capable of producing something magnificent that might so make the other hunters cease their relentless teasing of him - at least, she was determined to try to help him find something that might achieve that goal. It was with that in mind that Chizue so inquired after credit cards. In truth, she hardly expected him to somehow manipulate money or something as meaningless as that, rather, there was an entirely distinct reasoning for her line of questioning. "Hm...." She uttered softly, her eyebrows knitting together in thought. "No, no, you shouldn't do that. It's not why I was asking. I was wondering if...well, if you could manipulate things other than just paper. I think...I might have an idea for you to impress the other hunters if you want to come with me after dinner? The store is just around the corner, I promise!" The young girl turned enthusiastically towards her companion, presenting him with a rather wide grin at her own moment of ingenuousness. It hadn't quite occurred to her that helping a hunter show off to others of his kind was rather counterintuitive to the survival of her species. All that mattered to the girl in that moment was that her friend needed help!

In fact, it was with that very same thought in mind that Chizue tentatively inquired as to whether or not Kohl would be her friend too. That presence of that small simper brought the young asian girl a hint of hope that his words might be to her liking. Still, she could hardly help the giggle that left her lips as the man listed off his redeeming qualities and what he so had to bring to this friendship. It was certainly far better than anything Chizue herself might have been able to provide. "Fast car and plane. Check." She repeat with an easy grin. "I um...I can sing, I guess?" The young girl spoke with a note of hesitance, her gaze shifting ever so slightly away from her companion, "Though I'm not sure that you'll ever really need that." In truth, Kohl was perhaps the only person in all of the spiraling metropolis that now knew that singular secret of her. It was but a tiny hint of her own history that she kept perhaps as close to her chest and obscured as the man at her side. Still - surely it was okay to tell him now that they were friends, right?
