East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The last thing Miyako wanted to do was haul all of her boxes into the apartment after driving for eighteen hours, but she knows herself well enough that if she doesn't do it now, she will regret it tomorrow. Heaving a sigh, she shoves the keys to the U-Haul into the back, opening the door by shoving it skywards. As it rolls, on not so oiled chains, she winces at the sound as it echoes off the brick buildings surrounding her. Quickly, she stashes the keys into the pockets of her jeans as the woman begins the process of unloading.

It takes the better part of the next hour to unload her belongings and as time dragged on, Miyako had continued to shove a rather large box farther and farther in the back of the truck, not wanting to deal with it quite yet. It was large and heavy and awkward and she had a hell of a time getting it the truck to begin with. Searching the back of the truck for anymore boxes she finds only the large box left. Sighing, she reaches out and slides it to herself, before wrapping her hands underneath it gripping it firmly before taking the weight of the box into her arms with quite a bite of difficulty.

Grunting with the weight, she staggers towards the stairs, wobbling all the while, unable to see where she's going. Mi ping pongs off of the railing as she tries to get her bearings and then she takes a step too far to the right, smashing her hand against the railing. Grunting in pain, she very nearly drops the box until the flash of a body squeezes besides her and takes some of the weight off of her own hands. Sighing heavily, she peers around the side of the box to meet the eyes of a black-haired woman. Offering a tentative smile, "Thank you," she responds breathlessly. Unable to comment more, she pushes forward, directing the woman as best as she can through the building.

Gesturing to the door on the woman's right, they wiggle through the frame, their hands just barely scraping against the sides of the door. Navigating the piles of boxes, she leads the way and sets the box down with a grunt. Straightening up, Mi puts her hands on her lower back and stretches it. Smiling apologetically at the woman, "I forgot to lift with my legs," she laughs quietly, a musical sound before she extends one of her own slight hands. "I'm Miyako, you can just call me Mi," she laughs again at how it sounds, "Sorry, I don't mean to make it sound so cheesy," she smiles, referring to her name.

"Thanks for helping me," she pats the box in an almost loving way, "I barely could get it into the trailer to begin with. They're my pots and pans," she explains, tearing open the box to show the stranger. "I couldn't live without these!"
