East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

God I Want to Dream Again

I swear coffee is an addiction and it amuses me that I am a supplier. I've been here for nearly a year now and I am capable of dealing with the overwhelming throng of people that constantly go through that door, with simple and complicated orders. There are two kinds of people in this world that give out complicated orders â€" nice or bitchy. I don't mind the ones that are pleasant when they give out their order. It's the ones that have an attitude, the ones that threaten to raise hell if their coffee isn't created in the upmost perfect way. I don't like those patrons. I don't like them one bit. Now I can't exactly poison them or make them sick with their warm beverage. I do not want to ruin Alex's shop or keep people from ever coming back. However, I do want to punish them and the best way I know how is by inflicting pain. They could suddenly have an ache in their side, or have a terrible migraine, maybe find it hard to breathe. Is it wrong? Yes, yes it is, and yet it brings me some satisfaction. Life has treated me poorly and so I do not mind dishing out my own desires to bring others some discomfort.

Luckily this afternoon I've have some of our regulars and complete strangers come in without any problems at all. As I work my mind rolls over and over about many different things. I think about where I ended up here working in the café with another Were and the Great Alexander the Great. I am saddened that Anastasia hasn't been back. We were supposed to train together, but she hasn't come back. It reminds me of the pain I felt when I tore myself away from my maker and seeing him never try to get me back. Do I feel abandoned by my maker? Of course, even though it was my decision. Do I feel abandoned by Anastasia? Yes. With the absence of my parents for part of my childhood and having a Great Uncle never talk to me, well, that just adds onto the pain. Though as I mull over such thoughts, attempting to figure out what I shall do for myself or not, I people watch. There is a girl at the end of the bar waiting for me to make her coffee, and I am going as quickly as I can, because there is no one else in line and I'd like to have a break myself. As I slide the coffee over to her, I notice the dark circles under his eyes, and see that exhausted look. I know I'm not supposed to do this and yet, I feel bad for her. So, I grab a muffin out from behind the counter and place it on a plate, handing it to her.

"You look like you could use something to eat with your coffee."
