East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

That idea he might just have to accept what he got as far as powers went had a fashion of making him scowl once more. Maybe it was easy to accept what you got when you had a power like Sebastian to just....make women love you (Arlo so far convinced that was one of the greatest powers he'd ever seen) even Damon seemed to have been at the front of the power pool line that day when he got handed that...eye thing that seemed to make people do anything he wanted. When you had a power that did something for you liked it seemed pretty damn easy to love. Arlo not at all sure he loved his newest affinity, that one he had inherited from Patrick and yet truly would have given anything to give back to the man. He still had so many questions. Why had he only inherited it now? Why had he inherited it at all? Surely Patrick had held other powers so why exactly did Arlo have to get this one? He was all too willing to let those thoughts drift from his mind, a part of him almost grateful he supposed, that Damon wasn't one to sugar coat things. The man said it like it was and hell- maybe he needed to hear it. He wasn't as much of a jerk as he'd thought. Damon clearly intending on showing him a good time so, why not let him?

He'd never been to a strip club before, let alone in the VIP section of anything, at least, anything that hadn't been related to the band back in those human years and even then he'd been to stoned or high or god knows what else to even truly enjoy it. Tonight was an entirely different matter. Damon commanded anything and everything so effortlessly, the confidence of the man was, well, appealing if anything. Arlo half inclined to wonder just how long it had taken Damon to become the way he was, so calm and so effortlessly in control. It was that, maybe, that seemed to give the man that air of dominance about him and that commanding air. Damon was just one of those people. The type who spoke and others listened and hell, he was even growing on Arlo. Anyone who wanted to have this kind of fun was alright by him and really, would it be a bad idea to have someone like this as his friend? Someone powerful. Arlo wholly oblivious to his own talents in any real sense and yet any and all thoughts of that were forgotten in the wake of those girls.

Women so forward and so bold were an entirely new experience, the girl practically dancing in his lap, his striking blue gaze fixated upon her, the man almost oblivious to Damon's words as he simply watched the way she moved. Vampire or otherwise he was still very much a man, so many of those same wants existed beneath that predatory edge. It was only when Damon summoned Candy, however, that his thoughts seemed to rapidly shift. That vampiric stripper appealed to far more than simply his gaze, that hunger rearing within him almost instantly, his eyes darkening rapidly in that singular want and yet.....god, surely he wasn't allowed to actually touch her right? His hands gripped more tightly at that chair, that war between humanity and that simple hunger waging fiercely within him then. He could feel that venom starting to run in the back of his throat, Arlo biting down more firmly in some effort to hold himself back, the young man entirely unaware Damon had designed such a test from the beginning and yet Arlo's control was steadily beginning to falter. He had some command over himself it seemed and yet how long he could hold it for was another matter entirely. He was largely oblivious to the short work Damon had made of the man brooding over his lost girl, Arlo's attention shifting briefly to his vampiric companion as Damon tugged Honey closer, the older vampires fangs piercing suddenly into the woman's neck right then and there. Seeing another vampire feed was perhaps the true limit of his own control, it was almost instinctive, that simple want to feed because Damon did, because the older vampire seemed to permit it. Arlo's own reactions were decidedly swift, that arm resting upon him made use off as his fangs priced suddenly into Candy's wrist, the young woman truly having no chance to throw him off her or fight back. His venom utterly designed to bring down his own kind. That potent poison took hold within seconds, Candy slumping onto him, the woman barely conscious as that sedative seized every part of her, lulling her into that state of bliss as he released her wrist and tilted her head to the side, exposing the flesh of her neck for his taking. She was well fed. Affording Arlo his own sizeable meal in turn.

That blood was nothing short of glorious. The taste far nicer then Lucas had been, Arlo feeding almost greedily from her until that initial hunger in the least was sated. The blue-eyed boy glanced upward long enough to see the way Damon was brushing his own blood over the wounds on the woman's neck. Arlo managing to ask just what he was doing when the sound of that other women drew his gaze. He could smell her from here. Another vampire and one determined to look out for her friend. That combination of his own relentless hunger and too- that fear she might try and take his meal readily seeing Arlo engage another off his abilities. He appeared near instantly behind the second woman, his teeth finding her neck well before she could react, Arlo decidedly fast even for a vampire. After all- to hunt as he did he had to be faster then they were. The man re-appeared in his chair a moment later, the second woman slumped against him and Candy back in his lap as he returned to feeding at her own request as she moaned softly in that simple bliss of his bite.

It was several more moments still before Arlo seemed to remember Damon at all, the younger vampire looking up suddenly, his tongue sweeping at the blood on his lips as the boy seemed to dance between an almost sheepish submissiveness for behaviour he was sure Damon was going to tell him off for and an almost wary belief the older vampire might try and take his meal from him. That sudden clapping was hardly anticipated. Arlo blinking in a simple surprise before moving to follow Damon's gesture of assurance that no one had even seen him teleport let alone take down the second vampire woman.

"Oh I....well I mean, to be honest bud, I didn't even really notice I did it. I thought she was going to try take my meal so I stopped her."

He was still entirely young enough, it seemed, to be almost aggressive over his food like a puppy. Arlo decidedly 'raw' in his own talents, the man hardly having considered anyone seeing him, in fact, in that moment he'd been so focused on simply getting more blood he'd almost been on auto-piolet. Reality seeming to sink back in now that blood was coursing thickly through his system. Damon seeming almost, well, delighted. Hell, it had been a damn long time since any other vampire had been delighted in anything he did. Arlo managing a sort of lopsided grin, the man about to discard Candy and enjoy her companion when Damon declared it time for a drink. Arlo hurriedly attempted to make Candy at least look as if she was alright and yet that waitress barely cast them a glance, surprise lingering on his features as Damon ordered the strongest bottle of bourbon they had. The waitress and Damon turned to him then. Was he really allowed to order anything he wanted?

"Umm, yeah, I'll have some of that too."

He'd never really had the option of ordering anything before, Arlo not even sure he'd ever tasted really good Bourbon, so why not try it now? He waited only so long as it took the waitress to leave before he slid Candy from his lap and into a chair, tugging that second girl towards him now, that blood affording him far more control then he'd had before and yet his features scowled slightly now.

"Damn, her hearts slowed way down now."

This was why he so hated leaving too long in between meals, vampires especially were prone to not only healing too quickly on occasion and making his feeding difficult but also for their already sluggish circulatory systems to slow down and make drawing that blood from their veins harder and yet- Arlo was wholly designed to counteract even those defensive mechanisms. A tool so perfectly crafted to help him feed on those vampires. His fingers brushed along her wrist then, Arlo searching for...something with diligent care before suddenly pressing down- that jolt of electricity shot through her body, the unconscious woman hardly any wiser and yet that single jolt, followed by another, so had a habit of starting her undead heart even if only temporarily and seeing that blood run again. It was easy to bite into her neck then, another shot of those chemicals keeping her entirely sedated as he fed unhindered for several more moments, Arlo unwilling to waste a feeding opportunity like this before at last pushing her into another spare chair and leaning back in his own- the man entirely sated in a way he had not been in a long time.

"Candy was nicer than her, though Candy was older, I think, older vampires usually have the better blood. I still think yours would be nice, don't worry bud, I won't bite you- I'm just saying is all."

There was something still....tugging at him. Something that seemed to remain convinced biting Damon was a bad idea if not outright bad behaviour. He shouldn't do that, he was sure, still, it didn't stop him at least thinking about how Damon might taste. Though sated as he now was those thoughts were easy to dismiss. The arrival of those drinks drew his attention then as he reached for his own glass- Arlo throwing back near half that glass in one go. Someone, it seemed, knew how to drink when the moment took him. That taste bringing a grin to his lips again.

"So what was that thing you were doing, with the blood? Why were you rubbing it onto the bite wounds? You got a fetish or something there, bud?"

There was a tease to those words as he offered them, that soft chuckle rising within his throat then. Arlo's personality so finally coming out now that hunger had been taken care off. His bright blue eyes resting on his newfound friend now, that delighted excitement clear on every part of his face.

"Is this what you do every night? Women and drinks and blood? I used to play in a band, we were pretty good, I used to get drinks and women and stuff but this is better stuff- it tastes better- all of it. Where do you get all your money from?"

If Damon could live like this, then why couldn't he? Was this what the man had meant as perks of joining a coven? Maybe he'd judged covens too harshly. Maybe. Arlo still largely oblivious to the idea it was him Damon was interested in and those things he could do.....
