East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

death incarnate & night triumphant

It was an odd thing, to be walking late into the evening with a fellow he had known centuries ago, someone who had understood what it had been like during that era. The world had changed so drastically in his time spent hidden in the mountains. If the man could, he would seek out his old haunts and remain there until the world was ready to be reborn again, yet he knew it was time to begin to rebuild his future. Andras wasn't a coward, he simply needed time to calm himself, he spent years traveling the world, interrogating and slaughtering in an attempt to find the ones who destroyed his court. Still, the answers eluded him and it was beyond infuriating. What he wouldn't give for someone to throw him a bone.

Yes, the lord was angry still but he no longer felt like destroying the world out of spite from his losses.

As he recounts the story to Dorian in quiet tones, he can't help but feel that rush of fury that so coated his veins for centuries and it takes a moment before he manages to get his mask under control; just in time for Dorian to stop and whirl on him in incredulity. Andras gives the king a grim look shaking his head, "I don't know," he responds, a hollow feeling settling in his chest, "I've looked for decades, Dorian. No one knows anything. I don't know if it was someone internal in my court or an outsider, for a time I thought it could have been your father who sent someone because there were so few who knew I had left my court for negotiations." Shaking his head again in defeat, it takes him a long moment before he can speak again. "When I found out you had been imprisoned in the castle, I knew it couldn't have been your father, plus I never told him where my court was."

There's a long silence before Andras can continue his plight, explaining to the faerie king he wanted him to join his court. He was surprised the man even took him into consideration as Dorian responds with a question. Gathering his thoughts, he begins to explain, "An Ambassador. You have connections; you've been trained since birth to lead, to perform negotiations. Your people admire you and I have no desire to subject anyone to my rule, nor do I care to lead a country. I simply want to protect what is left of the faerie race, our race," he states bluntly. "You do not have to give me your answer immediately, as I know you are a very busy man, but please do consider my offer," he gives a small nod of his head as he pushes their dark talks about death away for the moment.

As Dorian responds to him, Andras takes a moment to mull over his statement. It was fair, he didn't expect, nor had any desire, to command his court to do anything. They were there to protect each other and not be forced into anything they didn't want to. It was how the court had always been run during his lifetime. Nodding towards the man, "What you offer is fair, I have no desire to subjugate anyone to my rule, let alone have them fight pointless wars. I cannot promise you that there won't be a war though," Andras readily admits, "I have kept to the shadows for a long time, I have no doubt that whoever has slaughtered my court has word that I am alive and they very well could come after me after all this time," he grins though no amusement coats his eyes.

"Like I said Dorian, you do not need to answer me at this time, I am merely here to extend the hand of friendship and even if you don't accept, know that I am at your disposal should the need arise." He states as he stops again and faces the man. Offering a small smile, it is genuine though there is a bit of tiredness that roams in his eyes, an almost haunted look that lurks around him.
