East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Tetradore's simple repeat of the name of that dessert merely prompted the nod of his own head in some resolute affirmation that he had heard correctly. Frost offering some indication then of that collection of ingredients that afforded the treat that unique, spiced scent he held every belief his companion could smell as well as himself- those olfactory senses well developed in both their species. It was that almost dubious query as to the presence of chocolate however that saw his gaze lift upward once more to meet the panthers own. Frost quite unable to believe the other Alpha had never indulged in a carrot cupcake in all his life, the stallion inclined to think that Tetradore, like most of his carnivorous species, was distinctly unexciting when it came to broadening his food horizons. He hardly chose to afford it any comment however, rather, a single finger gestured briefly to that decorative carrot that adorned the top of that cake surrounded by that cream cheese frosting.

"Ironically, it is the carrot that is made of chocolate."

He offered simply, affording Tetradore several moments to wrap his apparently astounded mind around that idea as he reached for that knife. The stallion working to methodically halve that dessert as the other man offered the reasons behind his arrival here today. Frost hardly surprised in any true sense to find him, after all, Nadya had declared it had been her brother's intention to do as such. Frost hardly having doubted him. His mind holding a ready curiosity for what mutual benefits the other man had taken to considering might come of this arrangement for them both- although that offer of a drink was perhaps unanticipated. The stallion content to remain silent as he considered those options, that half a cake presented abruptly to the other man then, that singular command to wait resulting in the other Alpha paused near mid-bite. It was almost as if Tetradore hardly appreciated a proper garnish. Frost adding that slip of parsley before permitting the feline to continue with that impromptu taste test. Tetradore proceeding to eye him as if he near contemplated removing that final edition. Frost entirely content to meet his stare as if daring him to do just that. His fellow Alpha, this time, wisely choosing to avert that battle and consume that cupcake as it was presented to him. The equine content to merely wait for that verdict, his lip quirking in some vague expression of pleasure at the declaration the icing was delicious.

"It is a delight."

Those words were offered in that same cool, near emotionless tone in which he tended to offer most of his lyrics. Frost perhaps as equally skilful as Tetradore himself in presenting the world with that mask of indifference even when it was hardly required of him. A shield he could not always shake and yet he could hardly deny that sense of satisfaction that came with the other man's acknowledgement of those desserts all the same. As if another beings agreement of their taste might somehow further justify his own over-indulgence in them. Frost dusting that icing from his own fingers before finally choosing to address those earlier words he had been offered. The curiosity of that suggested drink met with that near intangible mumble that it was perhaps Tetradore himself that required that liquor. Frost allowing that flicker of surprise to dance across his features once more. Just what exactly the other man desired to tell him that required alcohol had truly piqued his intrigue now. Tetradore, he had decided, was a being not unlike himself. At least not when it came to how tightly guarded their personal affairs remained- even to those close to them. Perhaps the drink was warranted.

He rose easily from that booth then, his hands tucked into his jacket as he followed the other man out and onto the street, his violet gaze eyeing that blue Bugatti somewhere beneath that shock of white hair that had a habit of appearing even more pale in that sun. That query that left his lips affording some subtle appreciation for the vehicle all the same. Perhaps he might never be Tetradore's friend but he could still appreciate a good engine when he saw one. Those stats afforded to him in near the same moment as he continued to eye that machine. Frost hardly believing for a moment that such a vehicle had been obtained by any legal means. That rust bucket of a ship his companion operated could hardly be feeding that car habit he knew the other Alpha held, yet he hardly queried it. After all, he hardly cared.

"Impressive."

And it was. Frost inclined to admit to it as he slid into that leather seat, that seatbelt clicked into place as Tetradore piloted that car away from the curb and into the traffic. The stallion more than content to simply lean back in that chair, his form decidedly relaxed all the same. Neither man, it seemed, the sort prone to idle or pointless small-talk. The majority of the journey passed in simple silence and yet Frost had hardly anticipated leaving those city limits. Those buildings giving way to the trees and mountain country that existed beyond. Frost hardly having seen those mountains since his own arrival here some years ago now, his gaze lingering upon that open country side with an almost....longing of sorts. God how he missed it- that open space. How he utterly loathed that fucking city that smelled of gasoline and smoke and trash and people- where there was no space to move or breath and the sounds of those cars never stopped. His features hardly hinting at that near internal war that seemed to rage between that human sense of security found in the city and the equine want for space. That soft exhale giving way to the only words the man cared to offer for that entire trip.

"If your plan is to drive me really far out into the country and kick me out of the car like an unwanted puppy and hope I don't find my way home- then congratulations. I didn't actually anticipate that."

That soft sound of amusement echoed briefly from within him, Frost hardly truly believing that was the Panther's intention and yet why they had travelled into the middle of fucking nowhere god only knew. The equine, for once, content to maintain at least some measure of faith in his fellow Alpha that this journey held some meaning. Tetradore hardly having lied when he had queried whether Frost had a few hours to spare to hear that proposal. It had taken them a good hour to get wherever they were going as it was. Tetradore at last pulling off those winding mountain roads and onto a dirt track, that Bugatti hardly seeming built for this sort of road, that overgrown track fortunately short before that car pulled up in a clearing of sorts. What remained of a building visible amongest that grass and weeds. Tetradore reached for that case of beer at Frosts own feet before the stallion slid from that car in turn, shutting that door behind him before coming to lean against the hood and beside the other man. His gaze brushed over that tangled undergrowth and those charred, blackened beams, those weeds slowly attempting to encroach on the clearing. Tetradore had driven them out here to look at a....ruin?

His hand reached for that offered beer, that lid discarded easily before lifting it to his own lips. God he was going to need this. What the hell had he gotten himself in too? The equine remained silent all the same as his gaze at drifted from that landscape and to Tetradore himself with some clear expectation of an explanation. The other Alpha at last gesturing to part of that ruin, promptly declaring it to have been his childhood home, that genuine surprise once more finding Frost's features at being afforded knowledge of something so distinctly personal and yet even that was replaced by a look of confusion. What was Tetradore expecting from him? To pull out a tiny violin and cry over a lost childhood home with him? The stallion affording the other man a near dubious look now and yet- for now at least, he was willing to afford him the benefit of the doubt. There had to be a reason for it, didn't there? Either that or Tetradore was mentally fucking deranged. At least his afternoon was not about to be boring either way.

"Forgive my lack of emotion for the moment, but you drove us an hour outside of the city to show me where you came from? Why is that important, exactly? This better be good, Tet."
