East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I've forgotten how it felt before...

It is a relief not to have to worry just yet about my own safety. True, my sleep had been rather labored and a lot less restive than it should have been, but it was still one hundred times better than the rest I had gotten in recent days. As I had showered I tried to remember the place that they had kept me. Funny thing was, they must have put some sort of spell over my memory. I remember running FROM the place in snatches but I could no longer remember what direction I had come from or how far away from Sacrosanct it had been. I had the vague impression it had been quite a distance. That I had travelled for days. The soreness of my body attested to that very fact but what did I know? It wasn't as if I was the hiking or running sort anyways so I couldn't very remember ever doing some long distance travelling on foot. Running for your life had a way of adding in new experiences though.

The smells in the kitchen are mostly what drew me there, my belly rumbling in anticipation, the supper from the night before long exhausted. Adele did not lie in telling me that she would feed me well. This was by far the best I had been treated in a long time and that was just the food angle of it. Not to mention being stuck in a house with a mothering woman and a rather attractive vampire who seemed dedicated to helping me solve my issues. A girl could do a lot worse. I grin broadly at Adele when she turns around, naming off a whole list of things, eagerness in me. "I don't think I could NOT be hungry with the smells coming out of here." Who couldn't be? I wonder if she even had marmalade and jelly to go with biscuits.

I glance at the windows from which morning light streams in, eyes narrowing a bit, and then my emerald eyes shift to movement as Erik appears. Right smack dab in the line of sun. I trace the sun to the window then back to him, a puzzled look on my face, only half listening to what he said. "Now just wait a minute, Erik. I don't know MUCH about vampires, granted, but I'm pretty sure it is common knowledge about the whole night thing. Are you sure you are a vampire?" I give him an accusing look before padding closer, reaching out to poke his chest as if to make sure he is real, curiosity in my mind. "And I slept well enough. In comparison anyways." I give him a tight smile though it turns into something softer at his familiar smirk. Damn men, they knew how to make a woman soften up, I think. I make a humph sound to him, though there is a twinkle in my eye as I turn back to the kitchen table and take the same seat as the night before. "Well, breakfast first then. Gotta be ready for a long walk around the city." There is eagerness in my voice. As tired as I was before, I was eager to stretch my legs around Sacrosanct again, ready to soak in the sunshine and more than ready to find a solution to all my problems. If I had a tag along who just happened to be protective and hot, well, so be it.
