East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

For tonight she reveled in the fantasy, gave herself into the what-ifs and could have beens. She doubted anything more than what transpired tonight might have happened years ago if she hadn't disappeared, but with the way he was making her feel she was more than willing to pretend. All that mattered was the chemistry was still there, the gravitational pull that had always circulated between them was as relentless as ever, and the tension that had been growing since their first meeting finally reached a head. Everything had culminated into this moment and as he leaned toward her in those final moments before their lips met she was ready to see what could actually happen between them. That touch was fire and ice, everything she had wanted it to be and more as he pulled her closer against him. She relished the way his body felt pressed against her own, the two fitting against each other rather well she thought as her right hand bunched in the thin fabric of his shirt. The other dancing lightly on the cool skin of his neck, distantly fascinated by the lack of stubble on it despite the late hour. The thought fleeting and lost as his lips left hers and broke the contact.

The trail of heat his lips left from her cheek toward the sensitive skin beneath her ears quickly replaced the feeling. Carolina taking advantage of the new positioning herself to tease his ear with the combination of her hot breath and tongue against his lobe. Even going so far as to bite it gently between her far blunter teeth as he breathed her name so deeply. It gave her another set of delicious chills as her mind already turned toward what could happen next, and none of those things involved the words that came out of his mouth. She stilled against him as he pulled back slightly, just enough for their eyes to meet in the darkness, his appearing almost black in the dim lights as she considered his offer. His face in such sharp focus, their noses close enough to still brush as he gave her the time to process that request.

Despite the nature afforded him as a vampire it wasn't something that had ever crossed her mind until now, that this part of her might be part of what he desired her for. Was it all he had desired? Her skeptical nature pulled the thought to the front of her mind, and yet she didn't think that anyone could fake the chemistry between them that well. Still he did want it and it left her with the choice of what she would do. It was the fact that he offered her such a choice, that he sat there waiting so patiently as she considered it, that tipped the scales. Well, that and the alcohol that had quickly begun to work its effects in her system to lower the defenses she had clung to so vigorously for so long. It was all that it took for her to lean back into him, to tease her lips gently against his skin and murmur her assent in his ear.

She could feel the upturn of his lips into that familiar simper as he reaffirmed his promise to make her feel good, at least for this one night which as far as any of their promises went she was sure. The quick brush of his lips against her own once more was enough to seal that assurance as he tilted her head to the side once more. Momentary anxiety tugged at her, and yet she found it quickly replaced by a renewed heat between them, desire welling up once more because of him for more reasons than she understood. The brush of his hand on the other side of her neck had her stilling once more, fear momentarily surfacing that his fingers would find the raised skin of the scar that started at the base of her neck and ran downwards, that it would break the spell. Yet his attention seemed wholly focused on the task at hand and she pushed the thought aside as his lips pressed once more against her neck.

A soft moan fell from her lips, her fingernails dragging gently against the skin of his neck desperately as a flash of pain accompanied the sinking of those impossibly sharp fangs into the soft skin of her neck. She wasn't sure what she had expected, the pain surely but it was so fleeting and followed quickly by a feeling she had not experienced before. It was lightness, it was freeing, it was exactly what he had promised a freedom she had not felt before that left everything that had been troubling her behind. His venom flooded her system quickly, her breathing which had hitched up settled back once more as she hummed pleasantly into his ear. Distantly she felt the lapping of his tongue against her skin finding herself jealous that his lips tarried there and yet the depths in which his venom worked had her moving against him still as if desperate to only be closer. Her soft eyes fluttered closed as she succumbed finally once and for all.
