East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

audette rousseau

Audette was entirely inquisitive of the shadows that so gingerly reached out to caress her porcelain flesh. They hardly truly felt like anything, more akin to mist than any tangible thing. Her soft query of the umbrage prompted an almost blunt answer from the man, one that he felt fit to expand upon only when her mahogany gaze met the purple-hued irises of the Hunter in front of her. Her head bobbed in total understanding of just how such an affinity may, at times, seem more sentient than at their beck and call. Her own light, after all, tended to have a mind of its own, reacting to her emotions rather than her own whims. "They like to do their own thing, don't they?" She inquired almost whimsically, her fear slowly fading away to a warm simper. The darkness, however, slowly retreated back towards his skin, tightly hugging his frame. She almost wanted to reach out and touch it an yet, the young woman refrained, keeping her hands to herself as the Hunter turned his gaze from her and the street lights that flickered above them. Audette allowed the conversation to shift instead towards her own home, despite her almost sheepish admittance that she had little notion of exactly where it was in relation to the alleyway they currently stood within. Directions were presently not her best skill.

She was, admittedly, rather impressed that Adrien was so certain of his capability to return her back to the Western side of town she lived within. It was, however, the man's idle comment of whether or not she could keep up with him that prompted the young woman's almost dubious response. She had, after all, outran him but moments prior, her escape only cut off by the undead creature whom now lay at her feet. The fae was hardly oblivious to the glimpse of amusement that filled the man's gaze, even despite the mere confidence he near radiated in response. "Oh? You let me did you? And why would you do that?" She inquired, her eyebrow rose in a clearly baiting fashion. Audette, after all, hardly believe him and certainly saw little reason not to point out her own assurances. After all, it helped get her thoughts away from the blood that still stained her flesh and the decapitated body mere feet from her, in the depths of the darkness of the alleyway. Audette's head tilted to the side as she considered the man's certainty and yet, with a power such as his, she supposed that perhaps in the darkness of that alleyway, he might have been right. That power, she was assured, was cheating. An almost contemplative sound left her lips as she watched his shadows twist and twirl almost eagerly, as if they too agreed. "Perhaps with your shadows, but without, I think you would find yourself far more evenly matched, oui?" She inquired, her French accent decidedly strong.

The hunter's mention of his motorcycle, however, prompted a level of hesitance within the young woman. She was, admittedly, not terribly prone to any otherwise reckless activity. After all, if she got hurt...well, her petite figure was the entirety of her life. Dancing was everything to the young woman. His sudden assurance that she would be fine if she held on hardly helped to ease the thoughts that tugged on her mind. Audette merely nodded, as if she was allowing herself to be reassured even though she sincerely doubted her enjoyment of such an activity. The man's sudden declaration that she must make him a promise, however, distracted the girl from any further anxiety she might have over that motorcycle. A soft sound of inquisitiveness left her lips as she tossed her nondescript black gym bag over her shoulder. Audette was, admittedly, rather surprised by that commitment he wished from her. She saw no reason to voice that she had thought of this, much less that she had sort of kind of tried this, in a way, when he was chasing her. Instead, Audette merely offered him a soft simper before her head bobbed yet again, "Of course." She responded near resolutely. So it was just like the movies after all. Dark Hunters, it seemed, were not inclined to make a scene, much less any other supernatural, or so the man before her was inclined to lead her to believe.

Audette allowed herself to be ushered from the depths of that alleyway, the girl admittedly far more pleased then she wished to say to put that darkness behind her - much less the vampire that had so hunted her. She was inattentive, at that moment, to the way that he so wished to touch her, even if his hands remained entirely to himself. His sudden inquiry of her bag however, drew Audette's clover colored gaze towards him. "Oh, my audition clothes...and shoes." She stated and yet, it now seemed so long ago that she had stood in front of that slick wooden floor on the very pointe of her toes. How much could happen in a mere hour! Hopefully, the dance studio would call her and, hopefully, they would hire her and she could forget all about the awfulness of tonight.
