East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The coffee shop is certainly a peaceful place. It seems like lots of the patrons come here for a little alone time. There's no wifi so there's not the constant sound of people tapping away on keyboards and talking on cell phones. People seem to go back to the better times here and I like it. I look up from my coffee when a pretty brunette skips into the shop. She seems to be in a good mood, the waitress giggling at her like only good friends do. The sound is music to my ears and my lips twitch in a simper as I look down at the menu pretending to study it while I listen to their conversation. The waitress seems to have her preferred item in mind so I'm guessing she mostly gets the same thing when she comes here.

The brunette, a witch by her iron perfume, sits at the counter as they start smiling and talking. My hearing is sharp so I can hear every word they say. As the waitress hands her the drink, the witch makes a satisfied noise in her throat that brings to life the fact that I haven't been with a woman in a long time. I tilt my head and continue my eavesdropping as I keep my composure. I can feel the waitress' eyes on me as I continue to hold my coffee while staring at the menu. The witch starts whispering to her, telling her to come talk to me. I can see the heat rising in the waitress' cheeks out of the corner of my eyes and I lick my lips. I'll need a snack soon enough.

I hear the waitress' question and my lips twitch again. It's been a long time since I've daddled in innocent crushes and such. The witch turns her down and the waitress crosses to a door and disappears, seemingly disappointed. I catch the witch's gaze as she looks at me over her hot chocolate, giving her a charming smile as I nod my head in greeting to her.

"So you can't do love spells, huh? I thought that would be magic 101."
