East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

My Own Form Of CHAOS

I can only hope to bring some happiness into Isolt's life. Wouldn't want her miserable for the rest of her undead existance. She gets to see a side of me that no one else gets to see. I'm not this guy in front of others. I never thought I could be this guy again. Usually I'm trouble with a capital T, the joker walks in and pisses someone off within five minutes. The guy who gets slapped for saying the wrong thing and gets punched in the next half hour for saying something else wrong. Yet with Isolt I'm the caring guy, the gentleman who holds the door open and always makes sure she's got food in her stomach.

I glance over with a raised brow when she tells me that she's got the tree taken care of.

"Really?"

I muse, following her hand gesture to the truck following in our wake. My lips twitch, a coy smirk etching its way across my mouth.

"Well look at you, thinking of everything."

I say playfully before her next comment about messing my car up has me scowling. My brow furrows.

"That was an accident, Isolt. And it's fine, it's all fixed now. See? Good as new."

I gesture to the car around us as I drive, revving the engine a little so she can hear it purr. It sounds better than ever and drives just as good. She doesn't need to know about all the money I put into it. I actually like working on cars, especially my baby. I'm distracted by her fingers trailing across my knuckles though. I glance up at her face, tracing the delicate curves of her features as if memorizing them for the first time, my lips parting a little as once more I find myself looking at her pillow soft lips. How can she do this to me with a single touch? It doesn't seem fair.

Then she tells me that she has all the ornaments and stuff in the trunk. I tilt my head, puzzled, when she says that she'll be putting them up herself. She chuckles like it's nothing but I shake my head.

"Oh no, you're not getting off that easy. Christmas used to be my favorite holiday. I think I'll be helping. After all, someone's got to judge your design skills."

I grin teasingly, shrugging as I look out the window for a moment.

"And someone's got to hide some secret mistletoe before the alcohol starts pouring."

I know she'll hear the soft murmur, having meant to let her hear it as I etch a crooked smirk on my lips and keep looking ahead. There's a few minutes fo silence as we drive into the housing district and suddenly her body jolts forward, her eyes hungrily taking in all the houses and mansions as we drive past. Her exclamation makes me chuckle as I shake my head.

"No..."

I let my voice trail off as I turn down a winding driveway that takes us back a mile away from the road. Once we come out of the trees, my mansion sprawls out before us, complete with pastures and vineyards and gardens galore. I park it under the awning in the circular driveway to goes right up to the double front doors and turn the car off.

"This is where I live."

I correct her with a charming grin.
