East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She asks what's going on with a giggle as she peels the cloth from her eyes but I know soon enough she'll have her answer. I know she wouldn't put on a blindfold for just anyone, so fragile is her faith in others since her change but I am appreciative to know that I happen to be one of the few people she wouldn't hesitate to let blind her for a short amount of time. I did get her to jump off a cliff with me after all. She simply stares at first as she removes the blindfold, taking everything in and I just hold my ground and give her time to soak it in, enjoying the look of awe on her porcelain features.

Finally she turns back to me and I can see the look of gratitude in her eyes, the silent messages she wishes to portray with those baby blues and I can only smile softly, a gesture she can only see me do. As she pulls me into an embrace, i bend to fit her body, wrapping my arms around her, squeezing just enough to let her know that I don't think she's breakable while still being gentle enough with her body parts. We're both pretty strong now after all. She whispers her gratitude in my ear and my smile deepens, my eyes gleaming sincerely as I whisper back.

"As I am for the day I met you."

She moves back from me just as Davante walks into the room with his mischeveous shadow. She gives the girl a nod, though I can only twitch my lips with humor as she nudges me at the flirtacious gesture form the young girl. Yeah, not in a million years. She seems hesitant to admit that she has met the dark haired warlock before which only sways my curiosity more. I raise a brow and move my gaze between them questioningly. The look on Isolt's face only makes me all the more curious. She looks almost nervous.

She moves to grab the bourbon as I hand out glasses, asking of Davante's intentions with a curious look. When I mention Emily's age, I can see the disbelief in Davante's eyes. I laugh.

"I think you mean dyslexia and no, I'm pretty sure I'm immune to that kind of stuff due to my dead brain and whatnot. Are you offering yourself as my new background checker?"

I grin teasingly. Turning my head, i take in the antics of the shadow as it starts throwing things and spinning on chairs. My lips twitch, unsure what to make of the whole thing. Davante doesn't seem swayed though, taking a seat as he accepts his drink. His comment about blood makes me chuckle and shake my head.

"It's an acquired taste. I'm not sure you can handle it."

I smirk, my eyes gleaming good naturedly. He responds to Isolt, telling her how good it is to see her and telling her that she owes him a drink. My brow rises again. I turn to Isolt.

"Give the man a drink. What better way to tell the story behind an owed drink than while reaping your reward?"

I give a light smirk but it's easy to see how intrigued I am.
