East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

living like we're renegades

long live the pioneers
rebels and mutineers

As far as casual encounters go this definitely ranked among the most interesting, and unbeknownst to her possibly one of the most fortuitous. She had hardly expected so much to come from lounging against a building in the wake of such a night. Despite her original reticence she truly enjoyed the early hours of the day, the sky gradually lightening as she sun crept over the horizon. While it was the dawn of a new day for most it typically signaled the ending of her own as she made her way back to wherever she was living at the moment. Largely she held the nocturnal tendencies as did most of her species, lounging during the bright daylight hours to come out when more... entertaining affairs might be afoot. Of course enjoying the city in her other form was easier at such dark hours as well and trouble abounded.

Mentally her long tail twitched as she could almost tangibly feel the thinly veiled judgement Dom put toward her, even as she explained the necessity of her actions. She shrugged it off, willing to put it past them if she was, which was apparent by the peace offering that slid across the small coffee table toward her. With perhaps a bit too much eagerness she snatched up the bag and gave the other girl a heartfelt smile and a quiet, "Thanks." Some might have seen it as charity and refused the gift out of some misplaced pride, but between her lack of funds and fairly consistent hunger she wasn't one of them. Of course her tearing into the pastry is sidetracked as Mr. Wonderful approaches.

He takes her jibe in stride, the bite of laughter short and sharp despite his smooth presentation. She knew the type, sure of himself as he is everything else around him no doubt. No doubt he exhibited just as much control over the rest of his life, bet he's OCD too she thought with a mental rolling of her eyes. Then again, who was she to judge? It's not like her lifestyle choices wouldn't raise any eyebrows. Her smile quirks at Dominique's own response which garners more of reaction it seems and she cannot miss the Italian lilt in his voice as much as the south twanged in her own.

The piercing hazel of her own gaze meets the bright blue of the other girls as she moves this little meeting along with introductions. "Carolina Grace," she offers followed by a quick roll of her eyes to the blonde haired man, "yes like the state." She'd heard that question one too many times in her lifetime. Her eyebrows raise incredulously, shifting slightly against the cool wall as he gives his own name. Frost? Had to be a nickname, she decided quickly, no way parents name their kid that she thought holding back the quiet laughter that threatened to bubble over at the thought.

Of course his response to her sarcasm would evolve into an invitation to breakfast which, while tempting wasn't quite her style, but she didn't have time to object to the forward offer before he divulged his true intentions. A purr almost rumbled in her throat as he showed a bit of his hand, not all of it if he was true to the type, but just enough of it to get them interested. Charismatic, that's the word she would later use to describe him. Smart enough to be dangerous. He turned to continue his offer and once more her own copper eyes sought his beneath the mane of hair that obscured them. Eye contact was as important as anything in the animal world, predatory as it was, and she knew enough to realize that not all predators had fangs and claws. Still she listened to his offer, a flash of brilliant blue crossing her eyes as the beast within stirred momentarily.

She had been what she is long enough to control the urges that came naturally with being a Were, but it was easy enough for it to surface on occasion in the change of her eyes or a rising growl. A job offer? Perhaps luck was on her side this morning, and if he could put his money where his mouth would it might just get even better. His offer hung in the air, and for a moment she let it as she simply stared at his obscured face with her own showing nothing. She knew she would accept, but she was too smart to seem over eager. Finally she sighed, flicking her gaze back to Dom to see her reaction before holding out the bag she had accepted before. "I guess you can keep your leftovers," she said, pushing off the wall in movements more fluid than any dancers. "Food, damn good bargaining chip." There was more than a little sarcasm in her words, but that she was staying at all would speak volumes if the two had known her any better. With that she started off toward the shop he had indicated, stomach leading the way as she simply assumed they'd be beside her.
