East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

SOMEDAY I'LL WALK AWAY AND SAY
YOU FUCKIN' DISAPPOINT ME

Maybe You're Better Of This Way...

It was comical, the way the lad sought to mimic my actions, retrieving the glasses that had been his point of fixation during the negotiation of our terms of partnership. As he put them on and looked to me, I gave him a crooked grin of approval, nodding my head as the truck glided out of the parking lot and cruised down the street. I hit the button on the driver's side door, rolling down the windows to let the cool air whir inside the cab as Tobi continued to talk.

The subject matter has me arching my brows, no matter the primitive way in which the young man describes the details of his traumatic escapade. I'm given to shake my head, getting the general gist of what had occurred. He'd either been to a zoo or a school, more then likely the latter... and the dog catchers had been set upon him to take him to God only knows where.

"Sounds like that was a rough day. You'll never have to worry about being boxed up in this truck." I replied cooly, revving the engine to create a satisfying roar of pistons and exhaust for emphasis. We were well beyond the confines of the District now, and the store was on the next street corner.

I pulled into the appropriate parking-lot and threw it into park as Tobi inquired about the definition of the term 'kicks'. That same crooked grin slithered back to my lips and I flipped my glasses onto my head as dark indigo spheres moved to peruse the blank expression on the younger man's face. "You got a lot to learn, don't ya kid? Well no worries, stick with me long enough and you'll be learning from the best of 'em."

I reach forward and tapped the side of my boot with a knuckle. "Kicks." I explained, and proceeded to kick at the floor board. "Get it?" I smirked and opened the door, exiting the truck. "Come on, I'll bet you clean up real sharp in the right set of clothes."

And proceeded to head into the 'Tail-or-Made'. Inside, racks upon racks of chic and rugged clothes specifically designed for men lined the walls and filled the aisles. Everything from denim and cargo to chic business suits. A delicious little lady with sexy curves and skimpy clothes was already waiting when we strode in. Her eyes brightened immediately, recognition registering in her hazel eyes as they set upon my hefty form.

"Mr. D'Manaco!" She exclaimed in an excited but business-like fashion. "Back again so soon? That's the third time this week, I'll be out of stock if you keep coming in for these shopping sprees sir!" She flashed a smart smile and I returned it with a suave wave of my hand.

"Not for me this time, Maria. This," I gestured to Tobias, "Is my business associate and the head of my Security Detail." She takes a singular look at the were-leopard, and I can see her expression begin to contort, as if she might scrunch up her nose in distaste of his ruffian appearance. I ignored it flatly and continued. "As you can see, he's in need of an up-to-date wardrobe. We're going out tonight to celebrate our grand opening... think you can fix him up right?"

She dons her professional facade once more, her eyes glittering. "Well sir, I've had my fair share of challenges before but this fellow nearly takes the cake!" She circles the young man, given him a stern eye as she gives him a thorough once over and pulls out a seamtress' measurement tape. After a few moments of taking Tobi's measurements she decrees "I think I can manage something, follow me..." She beckons Tobi with the crook of her finger, leading him towards the dressing rooms.

I follow a few feet behind, offering the lad my assurances with a firm head nod should he become hesitant during this undoubtedly confusing ordeal.

(( I'll leave the outfit picking to you. haha!))
