East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With Each Step I Take...

I walked down the sidewalk, in search of a comfortable enough place to sleep. My wounds from the crash finally healed up enough; on my forehead only a few scrapes remained, and though my pants leg was still ripped and bloody underneath it all that remained of the gash was a puffy red line. Most of the soreness was gone thankfully; I was now sure I could hold my own again. it had took me a bit of time for the adrenaline from my welcoming party to wear off, of course I had seen them before but never so many at once, it was exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. The only thing that I really had brought with me from the experience was a deeper anger towards that blasted doctor for not fully telling me what I had agreed to and not really preparing me for any of it. I could explore the town later but right now it seemed the sun would come up at any time and I haven't slept a wink all night. I knew what I was looking for though, contrary to what some may think this wasn't my first time running away, I had before but that was before my change; now I shuddered at the thought of how lucky I had been not to run into anything when I was still ignorant of the 'real world'. Food wasn't a real worry for me yet; I packed some, hopefully enough to find some sort of income and slowly saved my way off the streets before running out. That was the new plan anyways, with the old plan the only difference was that I was living out of my car; well the deer had ruined that plan. The strangers I passed on the streets at this time I barely avoided bumping into as I shuffled past them, my mind and eyes barely functioning from fatigue. Finally I find a promising alleyway, as I turns into it I almost trips over my own feet, catching myself before I hit the ground. I stumble down it a little ways before finding a jutted door frame, sitting on its edge I gets out my other hoodie and wraps it into a ball; putting it on one side of the frame, I rests my head on it, bringing my knees up I tuck my backpack underneath them. folding my arms across my chest sliding my left into my right sleeve and resting my hand on my knife, I falls asleep rather quickly, and doesn't notice even when the sun begins to rise.

I Submerge even
Deeper into my Madness
