East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

long live the pioneers
rebels and mutineers

Perhaps she should have waited until the business was actually open to enter, perhaps she shouldn't have walked in just because the door was open, perhaps there are a lot of things she shouldn't do... but where would be the fun in that? She perched atop the barstool, her long slender fingers thrumming atop the well-polished bar top in tempo with the music that drifted in from the back room; bright hazel eyes flitting around the plush and lavishly decorated room. She couldn't help that her gaze drifted to the myriad of bottles that filled the dark shelves behind the bar, all shapes and sizes, liquids of different colors, though to be honest she had never been much interested in drowning her sorrows in such a way.

It was then that she caught the soft, almost dancing footfalls of another approaching and her focus shifted abruptly. One slender eyebrow raised in curiosity as she took in the sight of a young woman, around her own age if she had to guess, with a baby girl perched on her hip. Her pink lips twisted up into bright smile, happy it wasn't one of the oafish men who all too often ran such establishments that answered her call. The other woman was slender and moved with a performer's grace, and with such a figure she would be surprised to find out that the child was her own. The woman paused at what must have been a comfortable distance away, her words thinly veiling both the confusion and concern she must feel at finding a random woman within her establishment at such a time as this.

Casually she slipped from the bar stool until the soles of her shoes touched silently upon the wooded floor, enjoying the fact that they were actually dressed rather similarly to each other; a good sign perhaps. "I hope you can," she replied, the southern twang of her roots lilting her words as she moved a few steps forward with her hand extended to the one of Nadya's that wasn't occupied holding a child. "I'm Carolina, sorry for walking in on you like this but I was walking past and I couldn't resist." For a moment she paused, with the distance between them diminished she got her first taste of the other's scent. A were, and a feline one at that, now that was interesting. Her grin widened, her choice practically made for her at this point. "I'm looking for a job and was hoping you might have an opening," she continued, interested to see if the other woman would notice it as well, "I can dance or sing, and I have some experience behind a bar or waiting tables as well, whatever you need."

She could undoubtedly survive without the occupation, but it might be nice for a change to not have to worry about where she would find her rent money next month or how she would buy groceries. She was getting exceedingly tired of ramen noodles and peanut butter sandwiches every night after all, perhaps singing for her supper wouldn't be too bad for a time. Besides if her boss would be another feline were then maybe she would just make a friend too, she hadn't had one of those in quite some time either.
