East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The stars in their orbits [Sam]

and the stars in their orbits shone pale through the lightof the brighter, colder moon

For the fifth time that night Nadya escaped from the bustle of the main floor upstairs to her office. She felt as if her chest was going to burst and no matter how much air she sucked in, her body was in refusal to believe that there was air to breathe. Nadya stood at her desk, clutching the edge of the wooden tabletop until her knuckles turned white. Fire felt like it was coursing through her veins as her Were form tried to push to the surface causing her bones to creak and snap. It took several moments of Nadya clenching her eyes shut and blocking out her surroundings in order to force the change back down.

Nadya had been living in the Ark for a few days now and tonight was the first time she had ventured out from within that steel hull. Running a business over the phone could only be done for so long; there were orders she had to place, costumes to go over with the dancers, routines and playlists to go over. Normally Nadya enjoyed all the aspects that came with running her burlesque but since being separated from the twins and moving into the Ark, her emotions were all over the place and it was becoming increasingly difficult to control her change. It was almost like being a child again where every full moon or tantrum could sway the beast out from inside. Once the fire had left, Nadya opened her eyes with a shallow exhale and released the tabletop in order to step around her desk. Nadya began to spread documents over the surface of the desk to one side of her while having a box sitting on her chair that she was packing other things. It looked very much like the office space of someone who was quitting or been fired stashing away whatever of their life could fit in a single box.

She needed time away from her business, that much was clear, and the only way to do that was to find someone to act in her place while she took the time off. Before Nadya had hurried upstairs she had stopped one of the dancers to find her newest hire, Samantha, and send her upstairs. The look on the fae's face was confused but with a nod set off to find where the wayward Sam was. Sam was unlike the rest of them, she hardly ever danced which caused something of a rift between her and the rest there. When the fairy located Sam backstage amongst the costumes Nadya had given her the task of mending she gave the girl a once over, not understanding why Nadya was asking for her but only assumed Sam was in trouble. "Make sure that threading is secure this time, the tassel almost came off during my last routine and I could have fallen." She placed a hand on her hip with a hug before adding, "Nadya wants to see you in her office. What did you do, spill another drink on a customer?" Many of the girls still whispered behind Sam's back, confused on why Nadya kept the girl around if she couldn't dance well and was so...weird.
