Miyako blinks in surprise at Malia. She must be truly transparent that even a stranger could read her emotions. Cringing at the thought, she already knew she had a hard time hiding such emotions, perhaps she would work on it. Or as much as she could. Still, Mi offers another gentle smile giving a small nod of apology, "Sorry, I was just concerned that's all," she explains quickly before Malia can scold her again. She was thankful for the subject change as Malia again questions her; another cringe lining her shoulders. "Well, I guess I didn't explain it properly. When we get there, we will try on clothes to see if they fit you and then buy them. I suppose some of the clothes would have been worn before â€" but they've never been owned before," she says with another smile.

It was almost exhausting to explain something, so simple to Miyako, to someone who truly did not know. Yet, she found it satisfying in a way and the small Asian woman didn't seem to mind. It was a new challenge, one she rather liked. When Malia agrees to running her burns under cold water, Mi gives a curt nod, she wouldn't push it â€" she didn't even know this girl, but still, that concern lines her features briefly. Then Malia is explaining she is indeed staying with a man that has a frown creasing her brows, drawing her mouth downward slightly. Was this girl truly okay? Should she take her home with her? It was these thoughts that run rampant through her mind until she notes that the woman isn't fearful of this Henry person.

Perhaps she had gotten it all wrong. It wouldn't be the first time Miyako had jumped to conclusions.

Still, there was something... off that Mi couldn't quite place. She lets it slide, the subject changing to school, her chocolate eyes softening at Malia. "Of course! Anyone can go to school," she laughs lightly, though a sense of uneasiness tugs at the back of her mind. The fact that this stranger had never heard of school doesn't sit well with Miyako but then Malia is questioning her and she doesn't have time to ponder on her thoughts for very long, "Yes, other people know how but I want to learn how, I want to have the ability to save people," she says patiently, her mind wandering back to the death of her mother. Mi didn't want anyone to have to feel that sort of loss.

As they turn to stroll down the block, Mi is content to walk with the girl, noting the shivers that racked her body. She was thankful the store was only a short walk away. They continue to converse, Malia offering her name as they pause on the street. Smiling, Miyako gives a nod, "Malia â€" it suits you," she compliments her just as they reach the doors. Mi holds it open for the shivering woman, following in suit behind her, letting that warmth sink into her bones. A sigh of relief is chased out of her as her eyes adjust to the gloom of the store. Unzipping her coat, she moves farther into the room, gesturing Malia to follow, as the girl clearly has no idea what she is doing.

A twinkle of amusement dances in her chocolate eyes but Miyako doesn't say anything, instead she stops at a rack filled to the brim with jeans. "Don't worry, Malia I can help you find something," another soft smile is offered in the woman's direction before she ruffles through the clothes, Mi's eyes darting back to Malia's figure from time to time, gauging her size. Selecting two separate pairs, she hands them to the girl, "Here â€" hold these. Let's find you a better fitting shirt and a sweater," she smiles before turning on a heel into the direction of simple t-shirts. She couldn't imagine the girl wanting to wear anything fancy, Malia seemed like she hardly cared what she wore. "If you see something that you like, let me know," she calls over her shoulder.

Continuing to browse through the shop, she selects several more items, before waltzing back to Malia. "Here, I think these will fit," she says brightly leading the girl to the dressing room in the back. With a hand, she gestures to it, "You can change in here," Mi states simply, moving into the room before hanging up the clothing on a hook, retrieving the jeans from Malia, and in turn, hanging them in the room too. "I'll be right here if you need anything."
