There was something so completely refreshing after having a good cry, it always felt as if the weight on your shoulders lifted slightly. True, it wasn't like anything was different, you just felt better. And right now... that's where the young doctor is at, Miya slowly peeling herself off of Dareios as she looks up at the mayor, the comment of his shirt has a small smile tugging at her lips gently as she watches him, "I suppose I owe you a new shirt then," she states just as a cool hand comes up to wipe away the tears in her eyes. She doesn't freeze in fear but instead, Miya is struck by the gentleness of his hands, her lips parting slightly in surprise at the notion as she stares at him. It strikes her suddenly at how very close she is to him, the man having a wrapped arm around her still. She's very aware that she could lean forward and press her lips against his if she wanted to, the distance was minimal but just as the thought crosses her mind, a blush rises to her cheeks as she watches the charmingly crooked grin toy at his lips.

She pulls away gently and pushes herself into a standing position, Dareios not far behind here as she avoids eye contact briefly to keep her racing heart under control. How could she go from sobbing in this man's arms to wanting to kiss him in a matter of seconds? It was absurd! She didn't know him, not really. He was barely more than a stranger. As she reaches down for her messenger bag, she's ready to slide it onto her shoulder before there's a tugging sensation from Dareios, Miya looking up and blinking at him as she releases the strap, only to watch him sling it over his shoulder. "Ah, thank you," she smiles at him, "But unless you plan on walking me home, I don't think you need to carry that for me," she teases him lightly, pushing away her earlier thoughts. She watches him closely as he glances out at the darkened streets, her mind refusing to draw up any memories of terrors from her past experiences. Although, she's almost startled when the mayor speaks again, he chocolate gaze falling on his face quizzically.

Tilting her head at him, "Okay...," she trails off, though it's hard to deny him anything when he smiles at her like that. She's about to ask him what his idea is when he all but vanishes, her human eyes hardly even aware that he was gone for a moment before she's whipping her head back and forth almost comically, "Dareios...?" She calls hesitantly, it was probably some sort of joke, she was certain! He couldn't just... disappear, could he? Was that even possible? Her brain can hardly comprehend it before he simple appears in front of her again, Miya startled as she takes a step backwards in shock, "Holy shit!" The curse words leave her mouth before she clamps a hand over her lips, its almost nearly unheard of for Miya to curse, even the words feel different on her tongue and yet, she doesn't notice at the moment as her heart races at the shock factor. His grinning face eases her mind slightly, her eyes glancing back and forth before landing back on him, his wind blown hair answering the question on the tip of her tongue.

"You just... ran?" She questions though she's entirely aware of the answer despite her poor brain breaking in the process. "This is all so... new for me," she says slowly as she finally manages her heart rate back to a more normal level, "So, some of the stories are true then?" She asks a bit hesitantly, the woman not entirely sure how to navigate such questions. I mean, was it rude to ask about one species? Miya hardly knew and truly, she didn't ask Arlo many questions when they lived together, he would have been a good source of information and yet, Miya didn't utilize it. She pauses to look down at the outstretched hand, Miya looking at it for a long moment before she places her dainty hand in his. "I trust you Dareios... I'm not really sure why, I barely know you but I do," she admits after a moment before she looks up at him and takes a small step forward, "Are you sure this is safe? I mean, what if you drop me?" She asks quietly, her chocolate gaze wary as she watches him.
